Rebekah: "He said there was a cure." Stefan: "Everyone wants it for a different reason." Tyler: "For revenge." Rebekah: "To be human and in love." Damon: "I'm setting you free, Elena." Elena: "And some will stop at nothing to get it." Rebekah: "Do it!"

Sheriff: "Carol Lockwood always said that togetherness, in times of tragedy leads to healing. That one community is stronger than a thousand of its members. But how does a community stay strong after losing its leader? And Carol was so much more than just a mayor. She was an open-minded friend and a concerned mother taken from us too soon by a terrible accident." she says at the school assembly for Carol as everyone passes around candles to light in her honor Tyler: "Screw this." he says getting up and storming out Caroline: "Tyler. Tyler, wait." she says as her and Jaylan watch his figure retreat Sheriff: "Please join me in observing a minute of silence in her memory" she says as everyone bows their heads for a moment "Thank you very much. In the wake of this tragedy, the town has selected an interim mayor. Many of you may already know him. Please welcome Mr. Rudy Hopkins." Rudy: "Thank you, sheriff. Carol Lockwood put this town first and that's why I'm here to talk to you guys. You folks are the future of Mystic Falls..."
At the end of the assembly Jaylan walks down the halls before calling Stefan
Jaylan: "Hey, you just missed the mandatory all-school assembly." Stefan: "That's because I'm at a mandatory all-alone drinking party." Jaylan: "Seriously? You decided to go on a Ripper bender now?" Stefan: "My girlfriend broke up with me because of her feelings for your boyfriend who just happens to me my brother. Puts a bit of a damper on things." Jaylan: "Is this how Rippers handle heartbreak? Workout and dry a bar out? Besides Tyler is already spiraling and he gets priority." Stefan: "His mother just died, what do you expect?" Jaylan: "Well according to his girlfriend, he's supposed to talk. Instead, he's angry. It doesn't help everyone's referring to his mom's death as an accident which is really just a polite way of saying that she was drunk." Stefan: "Do you think Klaus killed her?" Jaylan: "Carol Lockwood sure knew how to drink but I don't think she drowned in her martini glass. Just get it together. I can't do it alone." she says hanging up before walking outside
Damon
Damon: "How'd the assembly go?"he asks on the phone with Jaylan on the dock while watching Matt and Jeremy spare Jaylan: "As you would expect. People saying nothing but good things about her." Damon: "They still going with the cause of death:accident?" Jaylan: "Sounds better than a psycho hybrid drowned her as an act of revenge due to a plan her son came up with." Damon: "How's squirt doing?" Jaylan: "Well she no longer has any grandparents. Two she never met and two who were killed. So not great." she says sighing out Damon: "You ok?" Jaylan: "Yeah I'm fine just... I wish you were here." Damon: "Me too" he says smiling a little "I gotta go. Love you." he says hanging up before walking closer to where Matt and Jeremy are at
