Elena: "What are you looking for?" she asks from the observation room looking at Alaric in the scanner Meredith: "I don't know. A tumor, vascular anomalies. Anything physical that might explain his behavior. If it's medical, I can treat it." Elena: "And if it's not?" Meredith: "Well...Then we'll deal with that, too." Elena: "When did you suspect him? That it was Alaric who was killing all of those people?" Meredith: "It was after he told me about his ring. I remembered a story my grandmother had told me about Samantha Gilbert and her secret journal. I don't know if you know this, but we Fells are notorious busybodies." Elena: "Then why did you protect him?" Meredith: "Because I'm a doctor. I don't like to see someone hurt by something they have no control over. And, because when he and I first met, I felt like, I don't know, I I just kind of want to help him." Alaric: "No! Meredith! Meredith." he mutters looking at a reflection of himself in the mirror that smirks at him Meredith: "Everything all right in there?" Alaric: "Yeah. Yeah, everything's ok." he says seeing his reflection go back to normal

Jaylan is walking through the hospital heading to Alaric's room when Damon steps in front of her smirking at her Damon: "There she is." he says making her stop and sigh Jaylan: "Alaric said you wouldn't be here." Damon: "Yeah told him to say that" he says pulling her in an empty room "You've been ignoring me." Jaylan: "It was only for a day Damon. I don't have to talk to you 24/7." she says looking anywhere but him making him sigh out Damon: "Elena told me what Rebekah said." Jaylan: "Did you know?" Damon: "Yeah." Jaylan: "Great. So pretty much everybody knew about this but me. That's awesome." Damon: "She tried telling me but I stopped her." Jaylan: "Why?" Damon: "Because if she said it then I would have to hurt her. I was trying to save her feelings while making it clear to her" he says moving forward and grabbing her face to make her look at him "And what's clear is that I love you and only you. I get it you have a right to be sceptical. I pinned after Katherine for ages and when I met Elena I went after her. But meeting you has made me forget about all of it. I only want you Jaylan. And no one else." he says making her smile at him a little Jaylan: "I guess I love you too." she mutters making him smile before kissing her
