It wasn't long until there was a knock at the door. I sighed, backing away and looking over.

"Just ignore it." Jake whispered, pulling me back in. I smiled, kissing him back. But the knocking continued. He sighed, rolling his eyes, gently picking me up and moving me onto the other side of him.

"What?" He said, opening the door, where he was now face to face with Amy. He backed up a bit, his face dropping.
"Oh." He said. "What do you want?" He asked. Her face got angrier, her cheeks turning pink.
"I want to get settled in. It's late. If we're getting up early tomorrow, I want to go to bed." He held his glare on her for a minute.

"I can't believe you're actually coming with us." He sighed, pushing past her. She backed away, glaring at him.
"Great to see you too." She said sarcastically. I sat up on the bed, leaning back against the pillows. She turned to face me, looking me up and down.

"Guess we're staying together." She said. I felt my cheeks burn and nodded.
"Guess so." I said plainly. "Or I can just stay with Jake."

Her face dropped.

"So, what's the deal with you guys?" She asked, sitting down on the corner of the bed.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked. She shrugged, looking away.
"I just mean, is this just like a tour fling, or what? It did happen kinda fast, don't you think? You don't worry about who the next girl is gonna be?" I bit down on my lip. It was way too soon to even think about the idea of there not being a next girl, but the idea of there actually being a next girl... I didn't want to think about.

She could tell that she was already getting to me. She nodded, smirking.

"Well, you didn't think you were.. different.. did you? This is just how he is. He treats you like you're the only girl in the world.. until the next one comes along. And then suddenly he's over you and leaves." She shrugged, smiling back at me. My stomach dropped. I knew she was just trying to get in my head..

and it was working. But I couldn't let her know that.

"There isn't going to be a next girl." I said calmly, smiling back up at her. Her smile grew as she scrunched up her eyebrows. My cheeks burned.
"And you're sure of that, huh?" She asked. I nodded, leaning my head on my hand.
"Yeah.. I thought that too." She said plainly, getting up from the bed, making her way over to her bag.
"Well, you and I different."  I said. I heard her giggle to herself.
"It's cute that you think so." She said. "To be honest, I think you and Josh would be great together."

I felt my stomach drop. What did she know? My heart started to beat faster. Her smile grew.

"But aren't you two-"
"Eh, not really.. he talks about you a lot. It gets kind of annoying." She said, cutting me off. "You should hear the things he says about you. Girls would kill to have a guy talk about them the way Josh talks about you." I bit my lip, trying to contain my smile as my cheeks burned even more.

"Have you heard the songs he's written?" She asked.
"I heard.. one. There.. there are more?" I asked. Her smile grew as she nodded.
"Boy, are there.." She said, trailing off. "You should ask him about them. I hate to say it but.. they're great." My heart was beating faster. With the way he's been acting lately it was hard to believe he even still liked me at all.

Amy stood back up, making her way over to the bed and sat down across from me again.
"Look, I was with Jake for a long time. I'm sure everything is great right now, right? He tells you everything you want to hear, sometimes it feels like.. he's not even real. Because there's no way that a real guy talks like that. And it'll feel like a movie.. until it doesn't. And he becomes more and more distant. And then one day, he tells you it's over. Just like that. You had pictured your life with him but suddenly, you two 'weren't that serious.'"

My heart dropped. What if Amy was right? What if I was just another "right now" for Jake. We were still new. Was this exactly how he was with her in the beginning? How would I even know? Of course he would deny it, but what if she was just telling me these things to get him back?

I wondered how everything could've been different that first night. What if Josh had kissed me outside the bus? Would that have changed anything? Would I still have been interested in Jake if Josh had been.. different?

I hated that I was thinking like this. After just one conversation with Amy. But.. she wasn't wrong.

"I'm just saying.." Amy shrugged, swinging her feet up onto the bed, crossing her legs and sitting across from me. "Josh isn't that type. Who ever is lucky enough to be with him.. he'd treat her like a queen."

"But, you two-"
"Like you said, you're different than me." She said simply. My faced burned even more.
"There was something.." I said softly. Her eyes got wide.
"What do you mean?" She asked eagerly.
"The first night of the tour.. I thought.. maybe. But, he just seemed-"
"Like a lot?" She asked, scrunching up her face. I hesitated, eventually nodding.
"Yeah." I sighed. "I just.. I was afraid-"
"You wouldn't be enough for him." I nodded.

"Well, if you heard half of the stuff he said about you, you wouldn't think so." She said, staring back at me. My heart was racing again.
"W-why doesn't he tell me?" I asked. She gave me a look.
"Would you tell someone how you really felt if they were practically hanging off your brother everyday?" I bit my lip, shaking my head.
"I guess not."
"He loves Jake. That's his brother. And, I know.. he's not perfect. But.. he's crazy about you."

I didn't know what to say. I loved Jake, I knew that. But I couldn't deny that there was something about Josh that lingered in me ever since that first night. Maybe if he had been honest sooner...

"Did you sleep with him yet?" Amy asked. My whole body felt like it was on fire. She smirked at me, nodding.

"Yeah, I figured. Don't worry, he'll start losing interest soon."
