The next morning, I woke up to Sam's fingers gently gliding up and down my back. His hand, so warm, as it slid underneath my shirt, tracing the curve of my spine.

A smile escaped my lips as I nuzzled closer, hiding my face in his neck. I heard him giggle as his grip on me got tighter, pulling me up against his bare chest.
"You awake?" He whispered. I sighed, nodding, keeping my eyes closed. All I wanted was to live in this moment forever because I knew a shit storm was waiting for us right outside that curtain.

Finally, I peeked up at him, my eyes adjusting to the blinding light that shone through his window. His hand slowly traveled up my back, his fingers tracing my neck until they found their way into my hair, tangling within. I leaned in, gently kissing his lips. He didn't hesitate to pull me in, kissing me back harder.

"Well, good morning." He sighed, flashing me a sleepy smile. He grunted, stretching his arms above his head before pushing himself up, leaning back against his pillows. I sat up, rubbing my eyes as I looked around.

"Is everyone awake?" I whispered. He shook his head, smirking back at me.
"It's been pretty quiet out there." He said softly, reaching over, gently pushing the hair out of my face. "I think we're okay for a little while. Why? You wanna leave me already?" He giggled to himself. I bit down on my lip, feeling my cheeks burn. The last thing I wanted to do was leave, but I think it would be best no one found out.. like this.

"Well, I don't want to.." I giggled. He nodded, giving me a gentle smile.
"Don't worry, I get it." He said, motioning out of the bunk. I sighed, leaning in, gently kissing him again. "I'll make us some coffee." He nodded, smirking back at me.
"Okay." He whispered, gently touching my cheek. I bit down on my lip, holding in my smile as I hopped down from his bunk, quickly sliding on my jeans, and pulling his sweater back over my head.

Going over to the counter, I pulled out two cups from the cabinet, humming to myself as the same smile stayed spread across my lips.
"Well someone's in a good mood." I heard from behind me.

I quickly jumped, my cheeks burning bright red as I turned around to see Danny sitting at the table. He smirked back at me, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Oh um.. h-hi.." I said.
"And who's that for?" He asked cheerfully, his eyes getting wider. I bit down on my lip, holding in my smile. I knew he knew. I smirked back at him, shaking my head as I turned around, filling both cups and bringing them back over to Sam's bunk.

"Danny's awake." I whispered, motioning towards the table as I handed him his cup. He smiled back at me, wide-eyed.
"Oh." He giggled, taking a sip. I smirked back at him, feeling my cheeks burn.
"Should I.." I started, shrugging my shoulders.
"Yeah, go sit. I'll be right there." He said, leaning over, kissing my forehead. My cheeks burned as I made my way back into the main area, sitting down across from Danny.

He picked up his head, peering back at me with a skeptical smile. My cheeks burned bright red, but I held my stare on him, taking a sip of my coffee.
"So.." He finally said, breaking the silence, leaning back in his seat. I bit down on my lip, feeling my heart beat faster. "Are we gonna talk about this?" I sighed, looking back down at my cup.
"Do we have to?" I mumbled.
"If it was anyone else, I would just mind my business. But.. Sam is my best friend." I nodded.
"I know." I said softly.
"So then.. what's going on?"
"I.. really like him." I finally said, feeling my heart racing. Like was an understatement. He nodded, holding his stare on me.
"Like Jake.." He said. I shook my head, keeping my eyes down.
"No.." I said softly. "Not like Jake." He stared back at me, skeptical, taking a big sip of his coffee.

"You know he's too good for you, right?" He finally said. I nodded, looking back up at him.
"I know." I sighed. "I don't deserve him, and honestly.. I don't understand why he wants me either." He held his stare on me.
"Neither do I." He said with a smirk. "But.. I've never seen him like this about anyone before." I couldn't help but smile, looking back down at my cup.
"Really?" I asked. He sighed, rolling his eyes with a smirk.
"Really.. which is why.. I want to know what's going on." I peeked back at the bunks, wondering what was taking him so long.
"I mean.. so do I." I laughed. His smile grew as he took another sip.
"Well.. Sam's not typically the relationship type." He said simply.
"So I've heard."

If how he was last night was how he was with girls he didn't want a relationship with, I could only imagine how he'd be with someone he did.

"But.. like I said.. I've never seen him like this before. So.. I guess you're different.. for some reason." He laughed. I giggled to myself as I took another sip.
"Well.. he's never mentioned wanting a relationship with me." I said softly.
"And.. what about Jake?" He asked. My stomach dropped. I shook my head, keeping my eyes down. He nodded, understanding.

"So, Sam's never.. had an actual girlfriend before?" I asked. Danny shrugged.
"Not that I've ever met." He said, smirking back at me. My cheeks burned. "So.. she'd have to be.. pretty special."
"I'm sure she would." I sighed. He was quiet for a moment, sipping his coffee again.

"W-what has he said about me?" I asked, feeling my heart beat faster. He giggled to himself, raising his eyebrows.
"Oh, he's said enough." He mumbled. My cheeks burned as a smile escaped my lips. "So.. what happened last night?" He asked, trying to change the subject.
"Don't worry about it." I mumbled, smirking back at him. He stared back at me wide-eyed. I sighed, rolling my eyes.
"Oh, not that." I muttered. "Not like I'd tell you if we did."
"That's fair." He said plainly. I peeked back at the bunks again.

"Danny, I.. I feel different with him." I said, looking out the window. I heard him sigh.
"Does that mean I can skip over the whole 'you better not hurt him, or I'll kill you.' speech, because it gets kind of old after a while."

"I think if anything, he would be the one to hurt me." I said softly, bringing my eyes back to him. His face dropped a bit, his eyes more sincere.
"No, Jess. He wouldn't.. not you."

Finally, I heard footsteps behind us quickly approaching the table. My heart started beating faster until I felt Sam slide into the bench next to me, gently kissing me on the cheek before turning to Danny, flashing him a smug smile. Danny shook his head, smirking back at him.

"Is this how you two are gonna be now?" Danny laughed, tilting his cup back, finishing the rest of his coffee. "Don't make me tell her everything you said about her before-"
"Alright, alright.." Sam laughed, cutting him off. He reached his arm up, wrapping it around me, pulling me closer.
"So.. what's going on?" He asked, turning to Sam now, who giggled to himself, shaking his head.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Sam laughed, reaching over, taking my hand in his and intertwining our fingers.

I wondered if we would ever actually have the relationship talk, or maybe.. he really wasn't the relationship type. Just twenty-four hours ago I was almost engaged, so now.. was I really okay with just being someone's.. fling?
