Mom and I went for a walk, she wanted to Introduce me to her prison family as she called it.

Mama and I always had a different relationship then daya or any other kids, daya would say I'm the favourite but I think its just because I'm more like mom than dad.

Speaking of daya, mom told me she also got locked up and is at this facility too.

We walked past the phone area where that pixie girl from before was crying, eyes red and screaming into the phone about a whore

"Yeesh" mom said as we picked up the pace.

Then we reached the kitchen.

"Girls this is my daughter" she said loudly to the latinas helping serve food

"si, definitivamente es la hija de aleida" the short one said -yes, she is definitely aleida's daughter-

"sí se nota, es la altura" the tall one said looking me up and down. -yes it shows, it's the height-

"She speaks Spanish you dummies" mama said smacking the tall one over the head.

"I'm Vera nice to meet you" I say shifting weight onto my other foot

" I'm flaca and this is maritza" the tall one said, maritza waved and gave me a warm smile.

I was going to say something back when I got dragged further into the kitchen.

"Gloria" mami yells.

A "Yeah" sounds back as I new person walks towards us.

"Meet my daughter" she says

"Uh you must be eva" the woman I assume to be Gloria says.

I nod my head no and say "I'm Vera, Eva's my younger sister"

" oh shit, but Ur mami said you were the good one" the other women said as she put ingredients into a bowl.

"She is the good one" mami says putting her hand on my shoulder, I smile and then look around the kitchen. Noticing most of the staff are Spanish workers.

"Huh so we're top of the food chain in this bitch" I say. Gloria snorts

"It was red but we took this shit over"

"Nice" I say.
