Plain and simple: Wattpad Rants
I've been on Wattpad for a while now, and I know there are plenty of these already, but I need to release some hot air.

Man, I can't believe I haven't talked about this yet! This has got to be one of my most peevishly peeved pet peeve in all of pet peeve history.

Lol. Let's rant now.
There are so many reasons why I despise this trope. Love at first sight is probably one of the stupidest things I have ever heard of. It may be due to the fact that romance is not my forte or because love (the romantic kind) eludes me -- or I elude love, idek -- but I think the notion of love at first sight is absolutely ridiculous.
(Side note: I think romance in general is not very realistic because my parents didn't really marry for love. It just sorta...happened. Like, they grew to love each other eventually, but it's not in the way it's portrayed by media. For my parents, it was more caring for each other than "love" [in quotes because it is still love, but just not in the way you'd normally think as romance]. So, I really find it hard to believe that there's a difference between any other guy and the love interest who's filled with tingles, shivers, electricity, sparks, and fireworks. But that's just me. :/)
It's probably why I hate werewolf stories because for them seeing someone and yelling "MATE!" or "MINE!" is basically love at first sight, and it astounds me how this is still a thing. I mean, in normal cases, you could be saying you love a freaking serial killer for goodness sake!
Anyway, in the way that I best describe things, let us go into the depth of loving at first sight and discuss the problems that authors seem to skirt around when dealing with it and how downright ridiculous concept is.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT CLICHES

1. Bumping into each other.
Whether it's by the standard "I ran into a brick wall that was actually a teen guy's abs on steroids!" cliche or the "I was half blind because I somehow managed to bump into my future boyfriend while holding a scalding hot coffee without hurting either of us!" one, if two characters meet this way, you can bet on it that they will end up together.
