Chapter 27: Zoro and Merry

I stared in awe along with the rest of my crew as we looked at the beautiful, glistening city of water, "Woah...it's beautiful..."

Nami shared the same reaction before realizing soemthing and laughing slightly, "It's also a city of Luffy's biggest weakness!"

I shared a laugh with her and nodded my head, "You're right, I hope nothing happens..."

The navigator nodded in agreement before giving orders to everyone to get ready to go on land.

"So tall, strong and smart huh?" Usopp quirked an eyebrow at me, "That's the kind of man you want?"

I quirked an eyebrow back, looking at him weirdly, "That's not what I said."

The boy shrugged with a suspicious look, "I don't know, that's what it sounded like..."

"I was just answering Luffy's question, there was no deeper meaning to it."

Usopp gave me a blank look before pointing towards Sanji who was humming a tune happily, "That's not what Sanji thinks."

My eyes shift to the cook before sighing at the helpless lover boy and turning back to Usopp, "Is that what you think as well?"

Usopp stumbled on his words as he animatedly waved his hands around before giving up, "W-well I mean, that um is...what it sounded like..."

I hummed, interested in the way he interpreted before shrugging and sending him a teasing—although it was barley noticeable—smile, "Even if that was what I meant, why does it matter?"

Usopp froze as his cheeks became slightly dusted with a red hue, "Ah! Um, it doesn't really! I just um," The long nosed boy sighed in defeat before smiling at me while he rubbed his head and averted his eyes to the floor, "I guess it makes sense is all...wanting a guy like that."

My eyes observed the insecure boy as he stared at nothing but the floor. It made me frustrated that he couldn't see how great he was. I wanted to smack it into him.

He looked up at me once my hand plopped on his shoulder as I gave him a smile, "I think you beat a 'guy like that' any day."

I turned around and walked away before he could say anything else, what I had told him finally registering in my brain as I repeated the words in a mumble as heat rushed to my cheeks, "Seriously? Who says that?"

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. What is wrong with me?!

Luffy raised an eyebrow questionably as he watched me facepalm over and over again, "What are you doing?"

I jumped at the sudden voice before turning to my captain with my hands up defensively, "Jesus! Don't do that, Luffy!"

The rubber boy tilted his head innocently before giggling, "You're funny, Y/n!"

My head dropped along with my shoulders as blue lines appeared on my shadowed face, "I'm really not trying to be..."

"Anyways," Luffy grabbed my wrist and pulled me to the railing of the ship with a grin, "Come on! Aren't you excited?!"

It turns out, I completely underestimated the island. It was beyond mesmerizing, if such a thing was possible. There were rivers and waterways that traveled throughout the city and the atmosphere was fresh and clean, the people giving off a joyful and content vibe.

I never knew such a place existed...

Nami left with Usopp and Luffy to go into the shopping district with all the treasure they got from an island called Skypeia.
