On Rose and Eugene's second year anniversary Eugene proposed in the same place he asked Rose to be his girlfriend. The wedding was beautiful and Rose was very happy to see the surviving Easy Company members again, Eugene was also happy to see some fellow marines there. Sid had been the best man while Mary was the maid of honour. Due to Rose father dying while she was in Europe, Rose was stuck on who to ask to walk her down the isle. Rose ended up asking Donald Malarkey who was happy to give away the women who had saved his life on many occasions.

Rose became the first female doctor in Alabama after lots of hard work, once when she was discriminated against by another doctor, who still believed women should stay at home and have children, Easy Company members made the trip to Alabama in order to defend their friend. Let's just say that doctor never talked to Rose ever again.

Rose stayed in contact with the surviving easy company members and the post box at the end of Rose and Eugene's house was constantly full of letters. Rose even got the odd letter from Mrs Golding and some letters from marines like Bill Leyden and RV Burgin.

Rose went back into the army when the Korean War started but she spent most of her time in hospitals, aid stations and training combat medics, due to this fact she was able to return home a year before the war ended.

Rose announced she was pregnant with her first child soon after returning home from the Korean War in 1952. she got many visits including a visit from Donald Malarkey and that's where Rose told him that if the baby was a boy she was going to name him Donald, "after her best friend". Malarkey ended up crying into Rose shoulder in happiness and a promise that if he had a girl he would name her Rosaline.

Eugene and Rose's first child was a boy and he was named Donald Edward Sledge, he had Eugene's eyes and Rose hair, and as he grew older he began to look like a "mini Eugene" as many of the easy company members called him when the Sledge family attended an Easy Company reunion.

Two years after the birth of Donald, Rose found out she was pregnant with another Boy who they called Andrew Warren Sledge who looked like a boy version of Rose and in later years he was nicknamed Skippy due to his hyper personality.

One year after the birth of Andrew, Rose found out she was yet again pregnant but this time it turned out to be a girl who they named Alexandra Billie Sledge, Eugene was very happy to say that Alexandra turned into a mini Rose but he also worried about future boys.

The year Rose and Eugene turned 42 they got the surprising news that Rose was pregnant, the pregnancy was hard due to Rose's age but she got through it and they got another boy who was named William Valton Sledge.

The Sledge family lived happily. Donald married his high school sweetheart, becoming a school teacher and having two children of his own. Andrew followed his dream to travel America and when he was in Virginia he met Harriet Powers, the daughter of Shifty Powers, they were soon married and Rose was very happy about sharing four grandchildren with Shifty. Alexandra followed in her mother's footsteps and became a doctor, she never married but she did have a roommate who was secretly her girlfriend, Rose was the only one to know for years until Alexandra told Eugene who was happy because she was happy. William joined the army and Rose was ecstatic when she found out that Ronald Speirs was his CO, he later married a nurse he had met abroad and had one child.

Eugene died in 2001 from stomach cancer but Rose lived on until she died in 2016. Some say that it was old age but others say it was because she had done everything she wanted to do, that she had helped everyone she could.
