~Chapter 14: Preparations of The Birthday Bash~

So school is getting me busy including driver Ed, so I don't have time to really update, but since I have a four day weekend I probably will post. Anyways hope you enjoy the book and sorry for any misspelled words.

"Sooooo what are we doing?", Jessie asked as Shelby is trying her best to tie the balloon.

"Well, since my birthday starts in three days, I decided to have a birthday bash here at this country club that Nick rented for me", I smiled.

"That's cool, I remember all I did for my birthday is went to France", Shelby said as she was concentrating on the balloon, "and plus I bet French people are better balloon tiers then me!", she said in frustration as it popped.

She groaned and grabbed another balloon and started pumping air into it. "Okay so I got a live DJ, a caterer, the invitations sent out to the people you added on your list and the dress code that applies for it which is to wear neon or a white shirt cause of the cosmetics lights that will be on and laser light show for the Dj to play", Eden said walking out with a clipboard.

"This birthday bash is going to be legendary of high school! I never been to a popular high school party!", Shelby said so excitedly.

"Yeah especially coming from the Harvard family, they out up with the best party of the century!", Jessie said.

"Aww thank you sweeties, usually I'm always the one planning the party not your father", Eden shook her head.

"Mom where do you want us to put this boxes?", Aj and Jace walk in holding boxes that were stack on top of each other.

"Just set them down over there", They nodded and maneuvered themselves towards that spot.

"Sooo, Nina excited about the big 17 and how you are going to find your mate? Who knows maybe he's in crowd at your birthday bash?", Shelby asked as the others looked at me.

"I'm not sure if I'm prepared to see my mate or if he even lives in this state", I shrugged.

"Well no mate or not your a tough chick that can fight your own battles and stuff and I CAN'T TIE THIS FREAKING DAMN BALLOON!", Shelby shouted as I rolled my eyes and grabbed it and tied it in a quick movement and gave it back to her.

".....I'm going to put up the streamers....", Shelby said as she stood up and walked up to the side wall and grab the steamers.

"Knock knock", I looked and saw Jaxon walking in. Him and me are becoming close...as friends of course. I can kind of trust him but sometimes not.

"Wow this place looks pretty sick, I can't wait for the party to start", He said smiling.

"Yep, I can't believe it, turning 17! I'm so nervous, usually that's the age where I find my mate but who knows maybe he won't be at the party? He can be anywhere. But if I don't find him then I guess it's fine for not having a mate", I shrugged. His smile turn into a wide smile to a frown looking face. But he cover it with a small smile.

"Well your birthday will be fun", He lightly punch my shoulder.

"Okay guys, I really need some help with the balloons?", Shelby asked as she tried to tie the balloons once again. We chuckled and helped her out.

After we hung the streamers and tied the balloons together and put them by the door way. We smiled in satisfaction on how good the theme looks.

"Now, since we're done, what do we do now?", Jessie asked.

I open my mouth as I was about to speak but my watched beeped as I look down. I set up an alarm when to start training into the woods. Since Shelby is here, we use to train in the woods back home at the orphanage, learning how to do fight and learn martial arts on our own.

"Well, right now me and Shelby have to train, you guys can do something without us while we're gone", they nodded as I grabbed my backpack and Shelby grabbed hers.

We walked out and jogged to a good spot where is more private. I change into my black shorts and a white T-shirt. I tied my hair up and walked out, Shelby is already in her training clothes and we face each other as we bowed our heads and get into our position. My hands were raised and walking slowly as we were facing each other and eyeing each other with our eyes.

Watching every move we make, "no cheating, since I'm not part wolf and in training to be your guardian, you have at least make it fair", She said.

I rolled my eyes, "relax, I will only fight in my human form, if I fight with you in my wolf form I can kill you, but since you aren't ready yet to fight with a wolf, at least fight with me in human form", she nodded and she made the first move as she ran towards me and kick her leg as I grab her ankle and shove it back.

She backed flipped in the air and stood on her feet. She throws a punch as I grab it, she spun around elbowing me in the stomach. I groaned but recovered it as I grabbed her arm and flipped her over my shoulder.

After training, we stopped and took a break. We drank water as I felt the sun glistening over my face. I heard footsteps I snap my head to the direction I heard it from.

"What was that?", I asked.

"I don't know?", Shelby said as she stood up more alert, she grabbed her weapons from her bag as I furrowed my eyebrows.

"The hell? You brought a weapon?", I asked.

"Yeah, it's a hand-made police stick, but it's black and is metal then wood or plastic or whatever they use", she said. She also a scientist/mechanist geek. She flipped the 'police stick' around her hand like she was a ninja.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head as I raise my hand up. "Whose there?", I called out.

The bushes started rustling as we snap our head and face it, eyeing it carefully. All of a sudden a boy came out.

We sighed and put down our hands or weapons. "Who are you? What are you doing here?", Shelby asked.

I look at the boy, he was pale, have some sort of brownish bluish eyes. He didn't speak, he just stared at me, like he was observing me.

"Do I know you?", I asked. He looked strangely familiar but I couldn't remember if I even met him.

For one thing for sure he's not human. His scent gives this strange smell, like..like..a mint/vanilla.

"Jasmina Rosalina Carton Harvard", he said.

I gulped and looked at Shelby as she prepared holding the weapons. "Umm yeah...", I said.

"I'm Jasper Reece, I'm the moon goddess messenger, I'm here to protect you", he said.

Messenger? Protect?, "Wait? She sent you here?", I asked.

"Yes, I can see the future, it's part of my powers really, you see you are in peril. I would tell you what's really happening, but it's best if you have to wait three days and figure it out on yourself, by then I will tell you what's really happening and give you all the answers you are hoping for", he said.

"In peril? And in three days is my--", I paused. My birthday?

Something tells me something bad or weird is going to happen on my birthday.

"Okay? But please don't tell me that the danger will happen at my birthday bash?", I asked. He shook his head, "it will happen at 11:20 pm, you come here and meet me here and I will give you something that you will obtain, for now train hard."

with that he somehow?--Transported from his spot, disappearing into thin air. I gulped as I looked at Shelby.

"Okay, I'm confuse"
