Your POV

I woke up seeing my mom staring at me with a worried look on her face.

"Oh! You're awake." She said as she stand up. I looked around seeing that I was in my room.

"Ozan," I spoke as I looked around hoping to find Ozan and hoped this was all dream, but seeing my mom's expression changed into a sense of sadness. I just knew.

"Ozan is...dead." She tried to word her sentence carefully. I didn't scream, didn't fight. I just sat there realizing that he was truly gone. "Where's dad?"

"He went..out..." She said. I knew what she meant when my dad want to get away from everyone he goes to a bar to get drunk. A sob escaped my mouth as the tears flooded in my eyes as I let my emotions out my mom hugged me, comforting me as I continued to cry.

"I miss him, mom." I sobbed. I looked at the locket that had a photo of Ozan and me inside, it was a present that he gave me for my birthday while I gave him a beaded necklace that he had never taken it off.

"Your father has to identify your brother." She sighed. "I can't go to the mortuary and see him like that."

"I'll go identify him," I replied. "I don't think they would want my dad going there drunk so I'll go instead of him." She nodded and kissed my forehead as we sat on the bed, numb at the empty feeling of losing someone that meant so much to me. "When can I go?"

"Tomorrow." She replied. "You need to rest." I nodded and got under the covers and she left my room, closing the door behind her. I tried to fall asleep but I couldn't. I was grieving the loss of my brother, losing my other half and I wasn't ready to say goodbye to him, after a sleepless night of tossing and turning I finally fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up as I knew I had to identify my brother, I was nervous about seeing his condition. I wonder why he killed himself if he knew if he was innocent, was he hiding that he murdered someone.

"Morning Y/N." My mom said from the dining room as she ate her breakfast. My dad was nowhere to be seen. I sat down next to her as the maid offered me food.

"Thank you, Lucile." I attempted to smile at her but she knew I was grieving.

"It was no problem dear, I am sorry about your brother's passing." She bowed her head and I nodded. She left the room to do other work as I began eating the food she prepared.

"Did dad arrive home?" I asked my mom as she nodded her head and continued eating.

"He is still asleep in the room and might wake up later in the day from his hangover." I nodded, pushing the remains of my meal around the plate with my fork as I lost my appetite.

"I'm gonna go to the mortuary, I'll come back later." She nodded as I picked up the plate, taking it to the kitchen to clean it up. I slipped on a light jacket as I left the house, getting into my car and putting the address of the place into the GPS. During the car drive, I mentally prepared myself to see his body, to see whatever damage he caused himself.

I entered inside the building to be greeted by a worker as I told them my brother's name and that I was his sister. He led me to a room as he had his hand on the knob.

"Be prepared for what you are about to see, I know this is a hard time to cope with seeing your brother like this." He said. "I'm sorry for your loss." I nodded as he opened the door, we walked inside to see a table in the center and a white blanket covered over a body.

The man walked near the table and uncovered the blanket to reveal my brother's face. The blanket was lowered up to his collarbone so I couldn't see the rest of his body but that didn't stop with the tears rolling down my face just seeing Ozan's face. He looked peaceful as if he was in an endless dream. I looked at the worker as he gave me a sad look.

"Can I have a moment alone with him?" I asked and he hesitated a bit.

"Ma'am, I don't think I should allow you to be alone with him." He said.

"Please, he's my brother. I want to say goodbye to him." I whispered.

"Alright." He sighed. "But if you can't control your emotions I will have to escort you out of this room." I nodded as the man left the room leaving me alone with Ozan. I looked back at him and studied his face, my hand reached down to touch his skin to feel his skin cold not knowing how many hours he was dead for.

"Your trial was tomorrow, why did you kill yourself? Mom and dad are devastated losing you and so am I." My lip quivered as I choked back a sob, tears flowing freely down my face as some of my tears landed on his skin. "What happened to you in your final days? I want to know what was going on your mind." My eyes traveled down his neck to see a faint line forming around his neck, meaning that he hung himself.

"I wish I was there to stop you from causing you this." I sighed, running my fingers through his face but my eyes landed on something. I lowered down the blanket to reveal a gunshot wound above his chest, my eyes widen at the new discovery. "Who shot you?" I asked as if I was hoping for an answer from him.

Did someone kill my brother and made his death a suicide? My blood boiled as these workers knew the gunshot wound. I walked out of the room to find the same worker.

"Miss, are you alright?" The same worker asked as I shoved him against the wall.

"You know what happened to my brother!" I shouted as he bit his lip, fearing what might happen to him. "What is the real cause of death of Ozan?"

"He committed suicide!" He replied. "He killed himself."

"Bullshit!" I screamed letting him go as I threw my hands in the air. "You're protecting the person who killed my brother."

"I am not!" He shouted. "I just do my job as it is, here are your brother's belongings." He gave me a bag that had Ozan's personal belongings as he escorted me out of the building since many people were staring at me of my sudden outburst. I got in my car as I opened the bag to take out the clothes that he was wearing, his phone, his necklace. Everything seemed to look normal when there was one last piece in the bag, taking it out I realized that it was a ring that my brother had never worn in his entire life.

Inspecting the ring, I found an initial inside of the ring, raising my curiosity which read;

'L.M'

A/N: Y/N found some unanswered information about Ozan's death. What truly happened with his death?

This story is inspired by two tv shows that I watched. The first tv show is called Kara Sevda, a Turkish series - translated to Endless Love and the second show is called La Desalmada, A Mexican show - translated to The Heartless.

I liked those two shows so that was what this story is inspired by but I will a bit of the episodes of La Desalmada/The Heartless in this story but change it up a bit.
