Zechariah hurriedly exits the cab and goes into the reception space of Adeogun Textile Industries. He goes over to the busy receptionist and she looks up to acknowledge him.
"Good morning ma'am."
"Good morning sir. How may I help you?"
"I'm here for the interview slated for today. But I don't know my way around."
The receptionist cocks her head at him and gives him a weird look. She moves forward and scans him once again. Feeling uncomfortable, he shifts from one foot to the other as he tries to avoid her gaze.
"You're here for the interview?" She asks.
"Yes I am."
"And you're just coming by this time?"
"I had to attend to some things."
"The way you unemployed people act sometimes ehn. The interview is over oo. And the lucky person has been appointed. You can try your luck at another company that will wait for you to attend interview two hours after the scheduled time. It's like you don't know that only three of you were called for the interview. Human beings will just be misusing opportunities." She gives a hiss and returns her attention to the computer monitor in front of her. Dejectedly, he turns to go really angry with his Mom for the delay she caused in the morning. As he reaches the sliding glass door, he faintly hears the voice of the receptionist probably talking to another lady, "You see that man, he's just coming for interview. Since morning ooo. Nigerians youths are just so what should I call them sef?". He blocks them out and strides out of the company back to the main road. He crosses to the other side of the road and flags down a bike. He hops on the bike and the vehicle starts.

He opens the gate and goes into the house sulking. He enters the living room and meets his Mom sitting beside a dark complexioned lady beaming with smiles. He goes into the room without talking to anyone and moves to his wardrobe and changes his clothes, picks up his phone and returns to the sitting room. His mother looks up immediately he comes into the room and faces the lady.
"Ehn ehn, that is your husband's younger brother." She points at him as he goes into the kitchen. He meets Jael doing the dishes and goes to stand beside her.
"How are you?" He asks her as she notices that she has a sullen look.
"I'm not fine joor."
"What happened?"
"Is it not your mother? She turned me into house girl on top one human being that came to see her. The lady didn't do anything to me oo, but I can't help but pass on the vibes I get from her fiance."
"Ah ah. Calm down Jael. Even the Bible says that you shouldn't hate your brother. Besides,he didn't do anything did he?"
"What do you mean? I don't have him oo, I only dislike him. He has done many things abeg. Trying to be the better twin and all to sha gat attention from people. Human being that God created." She rinses the last plate under the running water and turns to face him again.
"I didn't ask how your interview went. How was it?"
"Bad. They were done before I got there."
"Really? Hope you're not too annoyed with Mom?"
"I am annoyed actually. Not too annoyed though."
"Gentle human being like you. Don't sha let them ride you." Zechariah lets out a chuckle and turns to leave the kitchen.
  "Where are you going to?"
"Out."
"Really? You're trying to leave your beloved love in this house?"
  "Issh. Better rest."
"Please na. Let me follow you."
"Don't follow me oo. If human being should fine girl now, I won't get the chance to call her. Stay in your father's house oo." He goes out off the kitchen in time to note that the lady is about to leave. As he passes in front of her, he smiles at him and says, "Nice meeting you." He almost doesn't reply but lets out a smile and turns to face her. He stretches his right hand out for an handshake.
"Zechariah. You?"
"I'm Stella." She replies still smiling.
"Take care."
"You too."
He goes out of the house without any compliments.
