Chapter 9

Bethany

Brian's car was finished and once Brian got here, Dom took him to the garage. So neither me or Mia saw him and of course we couldn't go with them.

"Does your brother have to be so annoying?" I huffed, sitting down at the kitchen table.

"He has his moments." Mia said, going to sit down but the front door opened.

"Do you ever lock the door?" I asked standing up. Letty was walking into the kitchen so I sat back down.

"Do you wanna tell me what you said to Dom today?" Letty was pissed off and it obviously was my fault.

"It's none of your business?" It was more of a question because I wasn't about to sound like a bitch yet.

"It is my business. He is my boyfriend or at least was," that really caught my attention.

"What?" I sat up, wanting to know what happened at the garage.

"Dom broke up with me. Something about how he loves someone else and that had to be you he was talking about!"

"No way. Dom wouldn't do that. He isn't stupid. Plus we didn't even have a conversation," I lied. Mia knew I was lying but Letty didn't see her face.

"This is all your fault. You should've stayed away and this would've never happened." I was gonna let her get to me. She was making me angry on purpose.

"Whatever. If you never would've sent me away, we would've saw who he really wanted fair and square," I just sipped my drink, waiting for her to explode.

"You know what? I thought you would've changed Bethany. All of our lives were better off without you here!" Mia stepped in after Letty said that.

"Letty, stop," Mia pushed Letty back a bit with her hand.

"No, you know what. This is bullshit. You aren't going to come back into our lives and ruin everything. We were happy without you Bethany." I wasn't going to lie. It hurt that my own blood hated me. But I tried to let her be happy.

"Apparently not, if everyone decides I'm better. Mia hangs out with me all the time, Dom broke up with you. Face it Letty, the person unhappy is you. I tried to let you be with Dominic. I did. I forgot about my own feelings and guess what? Now I'm being selfish about them."

Letty walked out of the house and you could hear her car as she drove away. But I didn't care.

Last night, Dom and Brian came back late and Brian stayed at the house. Today is Race Wars. Out in the desert. Mia rode with Brian and I rode with Dom.

The ride there was pretty silent. I didn't want to tell Dom about what happened last night with Letty and I. Unfortunately he asked about. Apparently Mia told him about it.

"Letty threatened you?" He didn't look at me, keeping his eyes on the road.

"It wasn't really a threat. Just a bit of an insult, but I was a bit too hangover and drinking at the same time so maybe it was a threat." It was hot today and I was wearing jeans shorts that were Mia's and a bit too small, with my bikini underneath and a white tank top with the sides cut out of it.

"So she told you?" I was guessing he was talking about breaking up with her.

"That you broke up with her for someone else? Yeah, blamed it on me actually and then said that all of your lives were better without me. So me being in a pissed off mood because of my hangover, I just told her that I was the one you guys liked better and she shouldn't be unhappy with me because I tried to let her have a happy life. I ignored my own feelings, but now I'm being selfish with them so she can go fuck off." I said, looking out the window. I could see the big arena were Race Wars took place. There were a whole lot of cars and people.
