Chapter 26

Double Update

We got back to Tej's garage and started working on cars. I still had absolutely no clue what was going on under the hood, no matter how hard Dom and Brian tried to teach me. Man, I miss him.

Brian is under a car, Rome and Jimmy are in a hood, Suki was painting and I was just standing around, doing nothing as usual. I leaned against the car Rome was working on.

"Babe, I understand that you're trying to stand there and look pretty, but you're blocking the sunlight," My head snapped to Roman and I flicked him off and punched his shoulder. "Ow, alright, chill. I was joking, Beth," He rubbed his shoulder and smiled. I shook my head and rolled my eyes.

"Shit! Brian, I gotta go to Verone's. It's already almost 5!" I jumped up and ran to grab my bag and stuff out of Tej's cot, since I had been planning on staying with Rome. Picking it up, everything fell out and I groaned. Bending down to pick it up, I knew my skirt was too short.

"Damn, B! You got some junk in the trunk," Roman walked in behind me and I clenched my teeth.

"Rome, I don't have time for this. I gotta put this shit in here and I gotta go," I said, shoving my clothes back in the bag.

"Don't worry, B. I get it," His hands grabbed my waist, forcing me to stand up. "I just wanted my goodbye kiss," Rome's teeth were as white as usual and his arms were muscular, but he was sweaty.

"Ew, Roman. You're all sweaty and disgusting. Plus you didn't want a kiss this morning," I stuck my tongue at him and he just pulled me closer to him.

"Well now I regret it," He leans in and I lean away.

"Cmon, Rome. I know you don't really like me. We can't just start actually being a couple. Plus, you know I'm still hung up on that guy in LA," I looked down, upset that I couldn't get over Dom and be with Rome. "I don't want you to be a rebound."

"Bethany, I know that you're still hung up on this guy. But I can be a distraction while you're in Miami," He kissed my neck and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I pulled his head back and kissed him.

"I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow, I hope. Please come back alive. Don't get yourself killed," I told him and he nodded and let go of my waist.

"Don't let that psycho hurt you," I nodded, glad that he cared. Picking up my bag, I walked back out to see Brian's car on and him in the driver's seat.

"Took you long enough!" Brian yelled, his arm leaned on the steering wheel as I got inside the car.

"It wasn't my fault!" I looked at him and then avoided eye contact.

"So are you guys like a thing?" Brian asked, turning down a different street.

"I don't know. He said, he wants to be my distraction. For Dom. But I don't want to hurt him in the end, when I- we leave." I was picking at my nails and I pulled my shirt down a little further.

"Well I care about the both of you, and I don't wanna get in the middle. But Rome isn't big on staying in a relationship. So I think he is okay with it, knowing that you won't be stuck on him, when he isn't feeling you anymore." Brian's words made me think, whether he was my distraction or I was his.

"You can drop me off here. Thanks, B," I leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I better see you tomorrow, safe and alive," he nodded, letting me know he was listening. I got out the car with my stuff and started walking up the driveway.

Ringing the doorbell thing, I stood, waiting for someone to open the gate. "Hello? It's Bethany. Monica's friend. I'm supposed to be here, last time I checked," I had popped in a piece of gum while walking down the driveway. Talking with gum in my mouth and smacking it, makes me seem like the type of girl Verone knows me as.

"Hi, Bethany. Come on in," Verone's voice came out the speaker and the gate opened. I walked even further to get to his front door.

"Man, you need a shorter driveway," I told Monica as I walked in the door. She was standing there, in her bathing suit. "Oh, are we swimming? I think I forgot my bathing suit." I rummaged through the bag, knowing that I had one.

"No, I just came in. Don't worry, if we decide to, you could use one of mine. But what do you wanna do? Watch a movie? Make some food? Do each other's nails?" Monica asked, leading me to her room and then the guest room I'll be staying in.

"It's up to you. I'm not sure what would be most fun," i genuinely smiled at Monica. She turned out to be nice and fun. Plus I was scared Verone would find out that we aren't actual friends. He probably has cameras everywhere.

"Let's do each other's nails. And watch a movie." I got on the bed and waiting for Monica to come back with lots of nail polish.

"Pick your poison," we laughed and I chose the blue color that matched Roman's favorite bandana.

IM SO PROUD OF MYSLEF FOR THIS DOUBLE UPDATE, even though I'm still not done the second movie.  But oh well
