Beth

So turns out there's this Braga case about drugs crossing the border and stuff. Letty came back to the car and told me about it even though it wasn't supposed to leave FBI quarters. I didn't feel like seeing Brian, so I stayed in the car.

Anyways, Letty went in and asked for Brian's help in clearing Dom's record in exchange for Braga. So that's how it all started and it's also how it ended. It meaning the life of my cousin. As soon as we started getting back to normal, it was over.

Mia was upstairs, working on something and I was downstairs, watching a movie. There was a knock on the door, so I stood up, stretching, ready to walk to the door. Mia's footsteps rang throughout the house and stopped me.

"Bethany, do not open the door," She was out of breathe and I was confused.

"Why not? Maybe it's that package I ordered," I started for the door again, but she grabbed my shoulder.

"It's Brian," my eyes widened. "Well if he is looking for Letty, she isn't here," and those were the words that convinced me to open the door.

"Letty was with him last." My hand opened the door and I placed the other on my hip.

"Bethany? Oh my god, you're okay. I mean, I thought you would come back here but I didn't really know," he tried to hug me and I just put my hand on his chest.

"What can I help you with? And where's my cousin?" I asked.

"That's what I came to tell Mia. Is she here?" I shook my head, covering for her.

"She just left about 20 minutes ago. Should be back soon. Why?"

"Um, it's about Letty. She was out running this case with me-"

"The Braga case, I know," He nodded at my words, continuing.

"There was this crash. Um, she, uh. I'm sorry. She didn't make it," At that moment, my heart fell to my stomach.

"What?" Mia's voice had cracked from the stairs, revealing her position. I couldn't say anything. Tears came to my eyes and no words left my mouth. Brian noticed it and he pulled me into a hug.

"Beth, it's gonna be okay." I shook my head as I cried in his chest.

"No it's not Brian. We just had made up and gotten past the whole Dom thing," I sobbed and shook in his embrace. Then I took a step back, wiped my eyes and pulled Mia into a hug, knowing she needed it too.

"I know you don't want to see me, Mia. But um, the government is having a funeral for her, since she- it happened under our actions. It's in three days. I'm sure you will-"

"We'll be there, B. Thanks for coming back," I tried to smile at him, but my smile faded to a frown.

"Again, I'm sorry," Brian bowed his head and turned to walk off the porch. I reached over and pushed the door shut. Mia shook in my arms, her tears drenching parts of my t-shirt.

I didn't know how to comfort her, when I didn't know how to comfort myself. My cousin was killed. Murdered even. And I didn't even say goodbye to her. Tears pricked at my eyes again, but I wouldn't let them fall. I had to be strong for Mia. I was all she had left, because she surely wasn't letting Brian back in.

Mia had been crying for about an hour, until she decided to just get up and walk to the kitchen.

"Where are you going?" I followed her and she had grabbed the phone and dug through a stack of papers, before finding what she was looking for.

"¿Hola?" She asked, over the phone. ¿Hablo a Dominic, Por favor?" It took a moment. "Gracias," My eyes widened.
