Twenty Years Later...

"*Mind getting off? Your a fatty*" I rolled my eyes as he signed to me. I lifted up and sat back down on his stomach. His face scrunched up and I smirked. His eyes then narrowed at me. I shrugged getting up and giving him a hand to help him up. He smirked this time and then pulled me down with him. He then straddled over me, trapping me on the spot.

Cheater, I mouthed, he laughed at that.

"I don't cheat Kamali" by this time you would have noticed I gained the skill of lip reading. I can read people's lips as they speak. I rolled my eyes and squirmed under neath him until he led up and actually let me get up. I brushed off the imaginary dust off my clothes, also adjusting them. I glared at him and he seemed to chuckle again.

He was my Uncle. Uncle Alex. He's been training me ever since I got here. Well that was right after the- incident. It's been hard. Really hard. Dads been wavering ever since we left that place. He's been trying to pull himself together but, nothing is working. Now all he does is drink. He would be gone at night and be sleeping all day. He would wake up then sit on the couch doing, nothing, beer in hand.

Someone waved their hand in my face, snapping me out of my thoughts. I blinked a few times, then smiled lightly at him. He gave a confused look and then mouthed an 'are you ok?' I shrugged him off then continued to walk.

He caught up to me again, grabbing at my shoulder, making me turn. "Are you thinking about him again?" I stared at the ground avoiding his gaze.

"*I don't want to talk about it*" I had to look back up to see his response.

"*Its fine...cmon kid*" he was also effected by this. I mean he was close to dad. They still are close but it's like they don't know each other or even related anymore. Grandpa didn't help the relationship either.

I don't want to talk about that either.  After a few minutes of walking, Alex stopped, gazing out.

"*Your Beta request your presence*" I let out a breath. I shrugged and kept walking.

"*Tell him I need a few, I'll be back*" oh yeah to make matters even worse I'm the Alpha to the rouges. Problems occur every day, every second. I hated it but it's my 'duty', me being deaf makes it so much better.

"Don't wander that far this time" he mouthed. I shrugged.

"*Wherever the road takes me I shall follow*" and then I ran off. I do this. Normally. Daily even. Sometimes when everything around me came crashing down, I run. It took my mind off of everything.

Clearing my head. Getting rid of unwanted thoughts. I just payed attentions to my surroundings. The trees. It was summer so they were their brightest green. Standing still as no wind was present in the dry air. I just kept going, watching them speed by me. I went the same path each time, noticing every thing differently.

I know I'll come back the same exact way, not expecting anything to be different yet, it is. The sky is bluer, the sun seeping more through the trees making the forest floor brighter. The grass under neath me, wet from mornings rain still.

No sound but only I could imagine it. The light swishing of the leaves on the trees. The crunching of the ground under my feet. The way the birds would normally chirp. If only I could hear it again.

That's when I saw it. The cabin, far away from the rouge main area. Set here that only few people know its location.

I kept it that way for him. Steadily, I walked over to the door. It was unlocked, as always. I walked in, suddenly feeling cold. The chills. That's what this place gave me all the time. Dad built it when we moved here. He didn't like spending time with Grandpa...

Then I caught his gaze. Well. He didn't return the favor as he was still sleeping on the couch. Bottles were laid every where, empty. I gulped and started to pick up the mess, the smell of Alcohol, high in the air. I already had gotten use to the smell. I threw the bottles away and went back to pick up the ash from his cigars. He also smoked to cope with Moms death. I threw that away as well. I looked over at his sleeping figure to see an unfinished bottle in his hand. I rolled my eyes and bent down to get it from him. His grip suddenly tightened and I glanced up.

He just stared at me. "What are you doing?" I wanted to take the bottle but he over powered me as he sat up, taking a swig from it.

"*You need to stop drinking*" he narrowed his eyes at me and blinked a few times, tiredly.

"And you need to stop telling me what to do" he took another swig of the beer. I crossed my arms, letting out a breath. I shook my head. "Why are you shaking your..your head?" He slurred. I frowned.

"*Dad I didn't want to do this, as your Alpha I demand that you clean yourself up and your banned from drinking or smoking*"

"Or what Miss.Alpha? Are you going to kick me out of the pack? Just like you're fucking Uncle did to us?" I stayed silent, not responding with my hands. "That's what I thought. Now if you got nothing nice to say...you..you can go" with the bottle in hand he motioned to the door. I bit my lip.

"*You did that to yourself, getting thrown out. At least I don't betray my family*" with that I turned around tuning him out. I was halfway out the door when the ground began to vibrate in violent thumps. I had my shoes off like I always have, so I know if someone were behind me or not. I turned to face him.

"*Happy birthday*" he signed over. I shook my head, storming out of the cabin.

I shook my head, storming out of the cabin
