Whumper had had problems with their Whumpee being defiant and they thought "what can I do to break their spirit?" And then a documentary on Pavlov came on the TV. Perfect. Whumper played Whumpee's special song during each torture session until the first few notes could cause them to curl into the fetal position as they knew pain would follow soon after. Their memories of this song and Caretaker/Lover were ruined.
