I fell in love at first sight. I just couldn't choose between the labradoodle or the golden retriever. I already had a golden retriever at my mum's house, so something different would be nice, but I also really liked those dogs. I couldn't have both, could I? I highly doubted the decision we were about to make. I just couldn't pick between two amazing dogs. Two would be too much and I wanted my full attention for one of the dogs only. Eventually, we went home with a labradoodle, it was still a tiny little pup, but in a while it'd grow.

I petted the for-now-unnamed dog as we drove towards our house. We made a special place for the pup next to the couch and spoiled him with a dog basket more comfortable than my own bed. We also bought way too many snacks and toys for our new family member, which he seemed to appreciate a lot. I had no clue since we didn't bond that well yet, but I convinced myself I could eventually read his mind. If only Lando let me get near the dog for five minutes, this would get so much easier.

"He has legs you know?" I mumbled, gesturing at the dog in my best friends arms. The dog literally got more attention than I got this entire day, which was okay, but if this dog prevented me from watching romantic comedies while sharing a bowl with snacks, I'd reckon I wouldn't like him that much. I needed my daily dose of hugs and the dog wasn't allowed to steal them from me. He furrowed his brows and sighed.

"Are you forcing me to let go of my baby?" He said in the most serious tone I've ever heard him speak in. I crossed my arms and I unwrapped the dog out of his blanket, there was no need to hold it like a literal baby. I reached out my hands and took the dog out of his arms. "Yes mate, go to mommy."

I chuckled. "How should we name him?" I asked. Lando shrugged. "We can't say mate all the time," I paused for a brief moment and looked at the brown eyes of my new favourite creature in the existence of the world. No wonder Lando didn't want to let go of the dog. "And my last name or yours? For on the passport for when he needs to go to the vet." I already got sad at the idea of the dog turning sick.

"Mine of course," Lando stated as if it were obvious. I raised my brows and waited for him to explain while in the meantime, I stroked the brown fur of the labradoodle. "Assuming you're gonna take my last name in a few years, it'll be weird to have Mayfield in the passport if both of us are Norris."

"Since when are we getting married, Lan?" I chuckled. "Last time I checked, the only person that gets married any time soon is-" I didn't know anyone now that I thought about it. "-I have no idea, but not us."

He rolled his eyes and chuckled. "If Lewis Hamilton gets married we need to get married as well," I furrowed my brows, his reason didn't make any sense. "He's a five-time world champion you know?" I nodded, of course, I knew what went on with my favourite driver. "So it's all tactics." I let out a deep sigh.

"What about Charles?" I asked as I put Teddy down on the floor. He slid a little while trying to walk, but he'd get used to it eventually. "You're forgetting I still have a boyfriend." I crossed my arms and sat down on the armrest of the couch.

"You're making it sound like it's a burden," He mumbled. "Tell me, Dais, when was the last time you saw him?" I bit my lip as I thought about it. My eyes widened when I realised we saw each other shortly after the race in Australia. The last time I called him was when my dad died, well, he needs to answer the voicemail so I have no clue if he knew what went on these past days. "Look, I understand that both of you are busy with your lives, but relationships require contact. Can't you just make time for each other?"

"I don't want to bother Charles," I sighed, stroking my hands through my hair. "He's so busy with Ferrari, it's always been his dream and as a good girlfriend I'm here to support him." Lando avoided eye contact and pouted his lip. "If you got yourself a girlfriend you'd understand, you wouldn't want her around 24/7."
