The Canadian paddock went full-on crazy mode and that all for a reason concerning the private life of one of my closest friends, Kate. For some reason, she and Lewis decided to announce their engagement this specific weekend. It doesn't happen every day that the championship leader is engaged to a member of the rival team and that was probably the reason everyone lost their heads. A scandal, as seen by the media. Betrayal, as seen by Mattia Binotto, but Kate and Lewis didn't give a fuck.

They announced their engagement after the race in the weirdest way you could possibly imagine. Lewis won the race, as usual. Charles and Max took the other podium places, but that was not related to the announcement in any way. Before the podium ceremony Lewis had parked his car on the place where it belonged, but instead of going to his team straight away, he walked up to the Ferrari crew. At first, it just seemed like he got a little confused and messed things up, however, he knew exactly what he was doing. He pointed at the ring on his finger and then at Kate, she raised her brows, a little bewildered by the situation. Then he took her by the wrist and showed the camera the ring she wore. That wouldn't confirm anything you might think, but then they kissed on live tv, which couldn't deny the rumours.

This engagement had lots of influence on how the rest of the paddock behaved today. All interviews suddenly turned wedding themed and basically all of the questions I got, related to my love life or a possible engagement, or really really started to annoy me. "So, when are you and Charles getting married?" An interviewer asked. My eyes widened, then I forgot we didn't announce our breakup yet and people genuinely believed we were still together. I scratched my neck, I could've lied, but being honest for once wouldn't hurt anyone. Well, my reputation maybe.

"Charles and I have broken up ages ago," I admitted. My answer caught the interviewer off guard, which was pretty funny to see, especially since I already thought they knew about the break-up. "You'd expect that the French know so much about love, right?" The interviewer nodded. "Well, I can tell you that's not true. Maybe I'm just biased though, you can ask his other girlfriend. She wasn't just a side piece, they were in it for the real stuff, two entire months." The interviewer raised her brows. "I know right! I knew he was too fucking perfect to be real, so of course he cheated. I shouldn't be surprised. Ever since the season started, he ignored me and then he did that idiotic action which forced us to go public! We both knew our relationship went downhill so which idiot would do such th-" I felt someone tap on my shoulder. I rolled my eyes.

"Don't go throw shade on my name if you used to scream it, Daisy," Charles whispered a little too loud for my liking. I felt my cheeks turn red a little and I crossed my arms. This was literally the first conversation we had after our official break, well, I vaguely remember speaking to him in Monaco, but I couldn't call it a true conversation since I wasn't sober at all. All of the few memories I had left of that night slowly started to form a chronological order, but with all the information I had for now, I still had no clue how I woke up next to Max. "Did she forgot to mention she slept with her best friend?" Charles asked, gesturing at the camera. "Oh and not just her best friend- she also did it with-"

"-Shut your fucking mouth," I said, pressing my finger against his lips. "If you want to tell me something you can do it over text, since you prefer that over almost everything. I'll save you the bother, we can't have you exhausted after five minutes can we?" I forced a smile before I received a look from Aisha, softly shaking her head as she smiled. I looked at the interviewer who I just left stunned. "What? There's no need to sugarcoat it, I'm an F1 driver, not a pastry chef."

"Daisy it's time to go," Aisha whispered, taking me by the wrist. I nodded and followed her out of the media square. As I did so, it felt like someone kept watching me, I looked over my shoulder and caught Charles looking over his. I waved sarcastically and then went switched back into reality. I let out a sigh, I felt really bad for exposing him sort of, but he didn't deserve my nice words, though it wouldn't have hurt anyone to leave out the details and just talk about the good times we had. I leaned against the wall in my drivers room, Aisha sat on my couch, scrolling through her MacBook. "Beth is freaking mad because you have been photographed having breakfast with Max." I rolled my eyes, I really couldn't be bothered anymore. I was so done with today, all I wanted to do was to go to my home and watch a movie with Teddy and maybe even Sabrina if she didn't have to work. "She says you fucked up your image."
