Kate invited lots of people to a party in Monaco, after the race so there would be lots of drinking happening. With Lando being stuck with Tanya now, I needed to go to that party all by myself. Joey brought his own girlfriend and I wouldn't sink so low to call Mathis, not if I wanted to wake up in my own hotel room tomorrow. Not having a date bored the living shit out of me, and what's better than wasting your time by getting drunk? I needed to distract myself to prevent throwing those bitches called Tanya and Rose off the balcony of this penthouse.

I was already slightly tipsy when someone came to sit next to me at the bar I claimed as my own. Literally, the distance separating me and the other guest contained at least five metres, but no- someone had to ruin my mood once again. As if this weekend couldn't get worse. I rolled my eyes and spun 180 degrees on my stool, crossing my legs. "I really don't feel like insulting anyone today, so I kindly request you to fuck off." Max showed a cheeky smile and shook his head. I raised my brows. "Then I'm not so kind anymore; fuck off."

"Did it ever occur to you, we don't have to insult each other?" I narrowed my eyes and shook my head. Max had no other value in my life than to be a great punchbag for insults that probably weren't even specifically directed to him. The press conference past Wednesday, half of the insults I used against him were for Charles, but I still had a weakness for Charles, so that's why I didn't want to crush him completely, something I definitely was capable of. "We can be friends for one evening, right?"

I furrowed my brows and glanced around the room, all my friends were too busy with their 'girlfriends' and George was nowhere to be found either. Kate hosted the party, so she wouldn't be here to hold my hand the entire evening. No, no, no. "Yeah sure," I said, letting out a sigh. I ordered myself a strong drink, how more alcohol it contained, how easier to get through this evening. "Let me guess," I started, playing with the shot glasses on the bar. "Kate insulted you and threatened to file a restraining order?"

"How did you know!" He chuckled. "And she's walking around with Lewis, I can't compete with her boyfriend," my jaw dropped. "They're dating, didn't you know?" I shook my head.

"I thought they were just hooking up!" I exclaimed. "Like friends with benefits!" I took another shot and shoved it back to the barman, who also could've handed me the bottle, his job would get easier if he did so, otherwise, I was going to whine for more drinks the entire evening.

"Just because you and Lando are too idiotic to do such thing, doesn't mean Kate and Lewis are," Max said. I raised my brows, did he just insult my best friend? "Also friends with benefits never ends well, one is going to catch feelings."

"That's absolutely not true," I stated. "You can be friends with benefits without falling in love. I didn't have feelings for Lando when we used to be friends with benefits," I paused and rubbed my nose. "Why is catching feelings necessarily a bad thing?"

Max rolled his eyes. "You're sitting here, with one of the people you hate most while your best friend is slow dancing with the girl you absolutely despise," he had a point. "Feelings suck." I agreed with him. "Don't you wish you could just switch feelings off, not all the time but sometimes?"

"Mate that's exactly what I'm doing now," I let out a quick chuckle before I chugged another of my drinks. "If you get drunk enough, feelings are bam-" I clapped my hands, he flinched "-gone." I sighed. "Except for the headache that comes after, but who cares." Max shrugged and also ordered a few drinks. "I bet I can drink you under the table." The Dutchman raised his brows. "I'm just a very competitive person, I need to be better at everything."

"Oh really?" He chuckled. I nodded and stacked the empty shot glasses up in a tower. "Prove it." I narrowed my eyes and scanned him up and down. He would definitely lose, I could easily drink more than he could, I had the experience required for this competition. "I'm a sore loser."
