Valeria:

"So, why are you dreading to see your mom?"

Driving to my mothers, I was so nervous about Abel coming with me. My mother has been an alcoholic since I could remember, my sister told me it was the reason why my father left.

"She's drunk most of the time so I just come to make sure the house my grandmother left her is still intact or standing. So if anything, I apologize in advance"

Looking out of the window, the sun was now going down as Abel's driver drove us. Reaching for my hand, I looked and couldn't help but smile at him.

"Don't apologize , I get we all have problems. I just wanted to go since you tried disappearing on me"

"Not just you, from everyone. I just like being alone to clear my head"

"Why do you have to clear your head? Is it me?"

"I just feel like I'm getting to invested into this. What will happen when you get tired of me? I see you with model type of girls and there just me, a regular girl"

Pulling his eyebrows together, he looked at me as if he was trying to figure me out.

"What exactly are you investing?"

"Time, Abel"

"Are you sure just time? Because I'm doing the same"

Pulling my hand out of his, I couldn't help but feel annoyed. Of course it wasn't just time, I was investing myself into this so called physical relationship that will never get to leave the bed.

"I'm sure"

"You're lying. You gotta be honest with me Val. What are you feeling?"

I didn't even know what I was feeling, I hated when he was away so I'd ignore him but when he's here with me I don't ever want him to go.

"I feel that we shouldn't get too close, we both can't do relationships"

Pressing his lips together his stare was so intense my eyes kept shifting from his window to his eyes.

"Nobody said anything about having a relationship Val, I was clear to you about what I wanted"

"I know, you just want to fuck me"

Not realizing the car stopped, I wished that I just kept my mouth closed.

"We'll talk after"

Unbuckling my seat belt, Abel got out first and helped me out.

"Wait right here, I'm just going to make sure she's home"

"Alright"

Walking up the walkway that lead to the door, I looked around at the run down house. The grass was yellow and dried. There was garbage in what where the beautiful roses my grandmother used to care for everyday. This wasn't home anymore. Ringing the doorbell, I waited a few minutes until a man I never seen before answered.

"Yeah?"

"Who are you?"

"You're the one knocking, so I should be asking the questions"

Taking a glance in the home, I saw how filthy my mother had it.

"Where's Lila?"

"I'm jot saying anything until you tell me who you are"

From where I stood, I could smell the alcohol from his breath.

"She's my mother, so can you tell me where she's at"
