Promise and Sacrifice

Sasuke and Itachi were laying both on the ground, unconscious. I checked Itachi's pulse and it was barely there. I gently took him away to a nearby cave. Once there, I gave him a pretty big chunk of my chakra, almost enough to make him my jinchuuriki. I had to ensure he was going to be alright. 

I sat right next to him and waited...waited and waited...

After 13 hours, he finally regained a relatively healthy heartbeat.

After another 8 hours, he woke up.

Aoi: "Hiya"

Itachi: "Why am I alive?" 

Aoi: "Cause I want you to live"

Itachi: "I have to die"

Aoi: "No, no one has to die, nor you, nor Jiraya"

Then I realised he must be cold, laying on the stone ground. I gently made him sit while leaning onto my stomach and then I covered him with my fluffy tail.

Aoi: "Hey Itachi, why can't you just tell Sasuke the truth?"

Itachi: "He'll resent the village"

Aoi: "But that is completely normal"

Itachi: "Konoha can't be destroyed because of Uchiha sins"

Aoi: "What if you tell him the truth and I make sure he can't touch the village? How about that?"

Itachi: "Promise?"

Aoi: "Haha, I swear on my life"

I licked tears off his cheek.

Several days later when he got better, I took him to the wolf mountain. That's the only place where he'll be safe.

Aoi: "Sorry Itachi, It might be a bit cold here but if you tell the wolves, they'll get you any warm clothing you could possibly need"

Itachi: "Don't sweat it"

Aoi: "Ah...Pff"

His eyebrow twitched. Everyone laughed out loud. I apologized for leaving right away but I had to go back. 

Naruto: "Why did you let him go alone?!"

Sakura: "Naruto, where are you going?!"

I peeked inside the office through a window. Kakashi waved at me lightly. In the meantime, Naruto left, slamming the door hard behind him.

Sakura: "Naruto!"

Tsunade: "Sakura, leave him alone for a while, it's okay"

Aoi: "Oi Tsunade, Jiraya's alive right?!"

Tsunade: "He is, but..."

Aoi: "But what?"

Tsunade: "Unconscious and I don't know when he'll wake up"

Aoi: "Okay, Fukasaku?"

Fukasaku: "Thank you for saving our lives, wolf"

Aoi: "Ya, ya, take Jiraya and Naruto to Mount Myoboku"

Fukasaku: "I get why Naruto-chan, but why Jiraya-chan?"

Aoi: "Your frog mountain energy will help him wake up faster"

Is a lie okay? Well, maybe not but how would I know.

Fukasaku: "Alright then"

Aoi: "Ah well then I'll be going"
