"Watch and pray, lest ye enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is ready, but the flesh is weak."
Mark 14:38
Jesus is very clear in this passage. He asks to watch and pray. There is something in us that does not convert, which is the flesh. We can educate her, but she will always desire sin. There are things that we need to flee or change our way, because our flesh is weak, and always turned to sin. Joseph had to flee from Pharaoh's house because he was harassed by his wife. If he stayed, he would surely have slept with her. (Genesis 39:1-23)
So it is with us too! There are things we know we won't resist, so we need to watch and pray. (Mark 14:38)
There is a very big fight within us, where the Spirit fights against the flesh and the flesh against the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16-17) Who defines who will win this fight is you! If you have a prayer life, the Spirit will be victorious, otherwise the flesh prevails. (Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 6:18; 1 John 2:15)
God bless you!
