"I baptize you with water to repentance; but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to wear. He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire."
Matthew 3:11
The church needs to go through three steps of parenthood, they are the three baptisms that the Bible mentions: baptism in water, baptism in the Holy Spirit and baptism in fire. Water baptism and the baptism of repentance, where we kill our flesh to live with Christ (Acts 19:4; Romans 6:4); baptism in the Holy Spirit, where He comes to convict us of evil ways (John 16:8).
But here comes the third baptism, which is the baptism in fire. This baptism is very important, not that the others are not, but this one, the church has no past. Baptism in fire is seen to prove the Christian, as gold passes through fire to take away impurities, so are we (Proverbs 17:3; 27:21; 1 Corinthians 3:13; 1 Peter 1:7)
We need to go through the fire, to take away all the impurities and be tried and approved! That way we will have a life in the Spirit!
