David was a man after God's own heart. But how did this come to pass? For he was a sinner, just like us.
The difference is that he paid a high price: the resignation! Renunciation makes us men after God's own heart, because we stop living our life to live the life of Jesus!
In Ezekiel's book, he talks about water that hits the ankles, knees, loins and then the water already covered the head...
When the water is only at the ankles, we take off our shoes, when it is at the knees we take off our pants, when it reaches our loins, we take off our shirts... When we enter a river, we need to take off our clothes to enter. This is how a life with God is, the deeper we go, the less "things" we have to take, that is, the deeper we want to go into God, the less of us need to have. This is called renunciation! Want to go deeper into God? Then. Renounce! Only then will you be a man or woman of God!
