"Then Jesus commanded him, Depart, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou worship. With this the devil left him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."
Matthew 4:10-11
We see in this passage that Jesus had a dialogue with Satan. Satan went out of his way to try to overthrow Jesus, but he couldn't. So it is today too, he tries to overthrow us, offering things of the flesh to nullify our worship of the Lord. Our life is compared to the life of Job. Every day Satan goes into the presence of the Lord to try to bring us down. (Job 1:1-12)
But there's something gratifying about that. When we resist the devil, angels come and serve us. (Matthew 4:10-11; James 4:7)
Do not give up, resist the devil, and ask the angels for help, because they are here to serve us! (Psalm 91:11)
