Sophie walked into the ball as everyone stopped momentarily with fear before they went back to dancing not wanting Sophie to have the pleasure of their fear. Her slow strut through the room over to us was eating away at my self control. I really wanted to rip my skirt off and impale her with my sword but I knew I really shouldn't do that. Apparently Tedros felt the same however as he gripped his hilt and looked at me protectively as I stepped forward, almost squaring Sophie up as she came to a stop before us.

She just walked past me and bumped my shoulder aggressively then smiled sweetly at tedros almost making me gag.

“Well, I'm here Teddy, you're still taking me to the ball right? You promised.” she said in a fake voice.

“Sophie.” he said barely above a whisper. He was in shock but it wasn't happy shock, it was horrified.

“Don't worry, it should clear up by tomorrow.” she said as she brushed off her haggish appearance.

“No. You betrayed me. I'm here with y/n.” he said as he took my hand and pulled me close to him but I had no trace of any good emotion in my body. Not even enough to smirk at her though that would probably make her blow.

“Her?” she said as she looked at me with the look we all knew as ‘that's who you replaced me with’. “Teddy, have you seen her for who she really is? She's got all the princes wrapped around her fingers. She's not loyal and you know that.”

“Sophie-” agatha tried but she was quickly silenced.

“Shush aggie the protagonists are speaking.” she said as she tried to touch tedros but he leaned into me effectively dodging her advances.

“What has rafal done to you?” I asked barely above a whisper as I looked down at her.

“Do you like it?” she asked as she fluffed her ratty hair and looked at me expecting an answer.

“Don't be fooled by whatever rafal is telling you. He's using you to destroy the schools.” I said but she just scoffed.

“You know nothing about rafal.” she said as she brushed me off and turned back to tedros.

“Actually I know a lot about rafal. Do you want me to give you a list of why he can't be trusted? Number one he's not even alive. Number two he talks to both of us in mirrors. Number three he's evil and only cares about himself. Do you want be to go on because i can and will.” i said as i raised my voice and got up in her ugly face.

“Your wrong. Rafal saved me. He's my one true love.” she said and i looked at her dumbfounded.

“Then why are you trying to get tedros back?” I asked.

“Oh you of all people know the heart wants what it cannot have.” she said dreamily as she made angelic hand gestures.

“I have everything I want.” I said proudly.

“Well it's been a nice chat but I'm late for my own party so if you don't mind I'll be leaving now.” she said surprisingly politely.

“We don't mind at all.” I called at her just before the doors closed behind her.

“This is really bad.” agatha said as the three of us huddled together.

“I second, third, fourth, and fifth that.” said with a dry laugh.

“You can't claim that four times.” tedros said stupidly.

“I've thrown everything out of the window at this point so pardon me for breaking your little grammar rules.” I said snarkily as I looked at him with a straight face.
