"What do you mean you turned down the job?" My mom yelled, peering at me over her magazine in shock. We were at her hairdresser and she was sitting under the dryer getting her hair lightened. I was getting my hair trimmed and bleached platinum blonde. I thought it might be beneficial to change my look a bit while I was here.

"I mean..." I sighed, "I don't know if it would be good for me to take the job. I might be recognized."

"I can't believe you would turn down a job with seven attractive men!" My mom exclaimed. She lowered her voice and leaned in to whisper, "Even though you're on leave from the FBI, I don't think it will be a problem for you to be the bodyguard for a boy group. Take the job! You won't get a better offer."

I sighed, pulling the business card for the manager out of my purse. I flipped it around in my hand.

"If you don't call, I will." My mom said.

I stood outside of Starship Entertainment. It wasn't a particularly tall building, but it still intimidated me. I looked at the door that lead to the lobby and pondered whether or not to open it.

'Maybe I should leave.' I thought.

They might have already gotten a bodyguard by now. And maybe one that was a man, someone who looked intimidating on the outside unlike myself.

I turned to leave, thinking I should have called in advance, and bumped into a solid chest.

I looked up slowly into the delicate face of Wonho.

'No backing out now.' I thought. The boys always showed up when I was about to make my escape.

"Oh, Jiyeon!" Wonho exclaimed, happy to see me. "We weren't expecting you..."

"You're right, I should just go." I said, walking past him to go home.

Wonho grabbed onto my wrist, stopping me from leaving. He dragged me into the agency.

"Nonsense! You should come watch our dance practice!" Wonho said, "Our manager should be here by 10 am."

Any hesitation I had was shattered as Wonho lead me through the hallways of Starship. We stopped in front of a dance studio. He opened the door to reveal the six other guys were already waiting inside.

Shownu was freestyling to Beyonce, and the others sat and watched or played on their phones. They looked towards the door upon my entrance. Half of the boys were surprised to see me, the other half looked confused about my sudden appearance.

"Jiyeon?" Jooheon wondered out loud.

"Jiyeon!!!" Minhyuk exclaimed. He jumped up from his seated position on the ground and ran over to hug me.

'This guy really likes hugging.' I thought, my arms stiffly at my side.

He pulled away after a couple seconds and said, "You changed your mind? You want to be our bodyguard?" He turned to the others. "See, I told you she was going to come back, Hyungwon! You owe me a coffee!"

They made bets? Maybe Starship didn't seriously need a bodyguard. They just needed someone to keep these boys in check.

"I'm glad you finally came around." Shownu added, appearing by my side. He was glistening with sweat. "We'd love to have you."

"Yeah, it would be fun." Changkyun cut in. "Plus I have a lot of questions about girl stuff that no one has answered."

"Let's get the dance practice over with!" Hyungwon sighed, calling the boys to attention so they could get into their formation, "Manager won't be happy if he knows we were dilly dallying with Jiyeon all day."

"You're right!" Minhyuk said.

I took a seat at the side of the room and watched the boys as they started their practice. For thirty minutes, I got to watch their dancing skills and listen to their music. I wanted to listen to their music ever since I met them, but I only got around to researching them.

The music was actually pretty good. And the boys were bursting with charisma.

'Maybe I should listen to K-Pop more often.' I thought.

Eventually the manager came into the room. He was checking on the boy's practice, and looked around the room to see me. He looked visibly surprised that I was there and motioned for me to follow him out of the room.

"Jiyeon-ssi." He said, "Good to see you. Have you thought about taking the job?"

I nodded.

"If you're still willing to have me, then I'll be their bodyguard." I said.

"Of course we're willing to take you!" The manager replied, "Follow me, we'll have some paperwork to sign."

After signing a contract for a year, and going over some boring legal stuff, I was brought to another section of Starship. Monsta X finished up dance practice and were now going through vocal training.

"Good news!" The manager exclaimed as he opened the door to the studio. "You have an official personal bodyguard now!"

The plan was simple. As they became more famous, they were in need of more protection. That's where I came in. They got their first win with Dramarama not so long ago and their fan base was starting to blow up.

"Before making this decision, I wanted to talk to you guys..." The Manager said. "Jiyeon will have to protect you almost 24 hours out of the day. So I am considering moving her into your dorm."

'What?' I thought. That was a surprise to me.

We didn't discussed that.

It was my understanding that most boy groups, before they make it huge and make millions, were crammed into a small dorm room. Moving me into their dorm would only make things uncomfortbale.

"You don't have to do that." I said, putting my hands up in protest. "I don't live too far from the agency. I can just commute."

My mom's apartment was a twenty minute walk to their dorm. Plus, I was used to waking up at ungodly hours for the FBI.

"That won't do." The manager shook his head, "I need you to protect these boys from any potential stalkers. Sasaengs come to the dorms, too! You can never be too careful."

"I'm okay with it." Minhyuk said. "Anything for safety!"

The others agreed, except Hyungwon who didn't look to pleased with the idea of having to make space for me.
