The Bodyguard (A Monsta X Fanfiction)

Chapter Forty Four: Chicago

The tour was going amazing. The concerts in China seemed to come and go in a flash, and before I knew it, we were on our way to America. We were set to land in Chicago in about an hour, kicking off the America tour.

The boys seemed the most excited about being back in The States.

Me, not so much.

I was going to have to be especially on edge everywhere we went, looking out for gang members. Technically I had a permit to conceal-carry a gun, but I wasn't willing to bring one around the boys.

'But what are the chances of running into one of those criminals?' I asked myself, becoming more and more nervous the closer we got to American soil.

I looked around the plane at the boys as they excitedly spoke to one another, already planning to go to a mall straight from the airport.

'We'll be fine.'

"Yay!" Minhyuk exclaimed as we exited the plane, he was happily running off to get the luggage. "Finally, we can go shopping again!"

"I've been looking forward to this as well." Jooheon added, "I've been needing to update my wardrobe."

Shopping was totally my thing as well. So I was looking forward to shopping, but wasn't probably going to be able to enjoy it as much. I was going to be on edge the whole time.

We waited for our luggage on the conveyor belt and I could already hear screaming fans.

'Crazy.'

I have liked a lot of celebrities in my life.

Beyonce. All of Destiny's Child. Rihanna.

But I could never imagine driving all the way out to an airport just to watch a celebrity walk by me for two seconds.

That's just ridiculous.

Now I was in bodyguard mode, dragging my suitcase, the manager in the lead.

Security had already been made aware of Monsta X's arrival far in advance, a wall of security and rope keeping the fans back as we walked to our waiting car. The boys weren't allowed to stop for signatures, because it was a bit of a safety risk, so we were already piling into the car after a couple of minutes.

"There were so many fans!" Wonho cheered.

"I know!" Kihyun added.

All of them were really happy about their growing outreach. More and more people were listening to their music now, surprisingly a large amount of their fan base was international.

"To the mall!"

We stopped at a large mall, the manager letting the us of the car. He was planning to check into the hotel a head of time while we were busy.

"Have fun, but be careful!" The manager said, "Be back to the hotel by 5."

With that, the manager rolled up the window and drove away.

"This is going to be so much fun!" Minhyuk smiled as we all walked into the mall together.

The mall was pretty empty, which was standard for a weekday. The boys had conflicting ideas of where they wanted to shop.
