Isabella stood flabbergasted, pain radiating from where he held her with all his force. She groaned; tears filled in her eyes. Taking long enough, Zaid finally realized he was hurting her physically and loosen the grip on her arms, letting go.

"Is this a joke?" Rubbing her arms, she muttered low enough for only him to hear in the spacious room filled with different crowds.

"Does it look like I cracked a joke? I'm dead serious, Isabella."

"You're insane."

"No. I'm madly in love just not with you but I still want to make you my wife."

Surprise was a very little word to cover what just happened. Isabella felt nauseous from the stench of his sociopathic demonstrations. She has known and studied that mafia are ruthless beings who kills for fun but marriage in the midst of a betrayal he thought she had caused him was on a whole new level. Plus, she couldn't figure out by being madly in love with someone else yet he wanted to marry her. What does that even mean?

"The clock is ticking fast Isabella."

He stated moving where the captives were sitting close to each other on the sullied and bloody floor. The gun danced with skills around his forefinger like a fidget.

Taking courage, she spoke loud. "You don't marry someone you don't love."

He scoffed like he has heard the most overrated thing ever. Rubbing the muzzle of the handgun on his forehead, he smirked at her. Placing both hands behind, he faced her, the grin never leaving his evil face.

"Trust me darling, I know. But you do marry when your loved ones lives are at risk where marriage happens to be the last resort."

"I shouldn't have expected less of you," she said, silent tears falling down her cheeks.

"I'll gladly call you my beauty with brains wife."

Wiping off her tears, Toni's mother stood up. "You better say yes girl because if anything happen to another member of my family, I'll kill you with my bare hands. I'm not losing my family because you chose to play spy with police who we hate as well."

"How can you be so selfish?" Isabella's mother, Nabeela rebuked at the crying woman whose tears have long dried.

"Mom's war, I love it," Zaid said coming close to her, watching the two elderly women verbally arguing with each other.

In times of despair, everyone showed their true colors. Jamal Hasim, the man she considered close to her heart sat down silently letting the women deciding among them. He didn't even look at her once. All the young ones whom Isabella has grown up with watched her with loathing in their eyes, blaming her for all the lives lost today. The other ones, the men in his gang nodded at her as if telling her she's the one who can prevent more chaos.

"Remember we once had a conversation where you refused to tell me what you fear the most because in your opinion fear is equal to weakness and telling your enemy your weakness can prove to be their strongest tool. Well, I finally found what you fear the most and I have smartly used it against you."

Isabella could only glare at him.

"You fear the lives of your loved ones, am I right or wrong?"

Isabella turned his back on him, hiding her vulnerable state while he laughed. Other people have joined the conversation all against her favor. It was just her mother and her against the whole world and only one way to stop it."

"I'll marry you."

She announced loud enough with a broken voice for the quarreling to cease at once.
