Isabella threw back her head on the white stretcher and closed her eyes tightly, silent tears dropping like waterfall acting on gravity. Zaid held her hand while running along with the nurses and doctor to get her to the labor room.

He was at the airport, dropping King off when he had received a call from Saeed. But before he could say anything a loud scream pierced through his ear.

"Tell him to come right now," Isabella shouted and shivers ran down in his spine. This is not as easy as he expected it would be.

"You have to get here. She's not going to the hospital without you," he said nervously and Zaid could swear the stern looking man was sweating buckets for dealing with this situation. Without saying a word, he ran out and sped the car down the road, breaking several laws.

"Bring the phone next to her," he ordered, making a sharp turn that attracted attention from delinquents who started to whistle as if he is in a racing game.

"Take deep breaths Isa, I'm coming as fast as I can."

"I told you not to leave me," she shouted.

"It's one hour, little did I know, but don't worry I'm coming home."

True to his word, the entire neighborhood must have woken the way he entered the driveway and helped Isabella in his Audi A6 that he knew how to fly on the road. But Isabella wasn't leaving his hand so the task was left to Saeed to get them in one piece to the hospital.

Isabella clenched her jaw, thinking she'll be able to handle the pain but she was wrong. She kept on gripping Zaid's hand until she reached the labor room and he was told to stay outside, like in movies.

Waves of pain crashed through her and the screams surrounded the place. Zaid stood still like a statue until Saeed helped him sit one of the benches whose paint was fading away.

"She'll be fine. I'll get you coffee."

He startled and asked. "Do you think we should call her mother or Toni's family? I'm so confused right now."

Turning his gaze to the room where Isabella was experiencing the worst pain ever, he put a hand on Zaid's shoulder. "I'll deal with everything. You sit here and pray for her health."

Zaid nodded watching him leave. Pray, it was a foreign word to him. By religion he is a Muslim, but he has never acted like one. He is a sinner yet he closed his eyes and asked to not let his wife suffer the consequences for his actions.

Back in the labor room, Doctor Alana kept talking to Isabella.

"Please try to remain conscious, please Isabella, and keep focusing on my voice."

She was trying but her eyelids were becoming heavier despite the unbearable pain. Was it normal? Probably not, because the doctor didn't want her to fall asleep. Has it been minutes or hours? Still no idea but Isabella confirmed one thing; she is never getting pregnant again.

"You're almost there Isabella, a little more patience."

She struggled and pushed as instructed until the loudest scream came out from her mouth. She saw a tiny baby being lifted up by Doctor Alana through her blurry vision and her eyes got closed voluntarily.

She has become a mother.

Fingers crossed behind his neck, Zaid focused on the tapping of his glossy shoes shining under the tube light of the hospital. On the next seat, the coffee cup sat untouched until he felt surrounded by shadows. He lifted his eyes and spotted his mother-in-law, Jamal Hasim and family, everyone's eyes gleaming with happiness.
