Hello dear readers,

I truly hope you have been loving the story so far and everyone who has voted and commented, I thank you from the bottom of my heart because you encouraged me not to give up. <3 But since it's the holy month, I am going to take a small break. Let's say the next chapter would be posted somewhere in the last week of May 2020.

In the meanwhile you could read the spin-off 'Judging You' to get familiar with the characters since they are going to appear in this book soon and I also have three completed books on my profile. You can check them out as well.

Stay safe and love you all.

"Don't you think it's a little revealing?" Hiba said after some hesitance while watching Isabella curling her dark hair like she knows exactly what she's doing. She no longer had the glimpse of the innocent girl with loose ponytail or messy hair.

Isabella who looked incredibly energizing in the spaghetti strap maxi dress with a long slit on the right side rolled her eyes and shifted towards her best friend who had worn a grey knee length dress, black leggings and her scarf wrapped properly around her head. If one didn't know them personally, they'll never admit that these two girls are actually best friends for they looked poles apart.

"Why do you think I'm even wearing it in the first place?" She asked, letting all her hair flow down one side.

"But this isn't you, Isa. You are the girl who wears trousers and sweatshirts. You are the tomboy I've grown up with. You don't dress like a-" She stopped, turning her eyes to the side.

"Go on. Finish the sentence; I'd like to hear your opinion."

"That's not what I meant. Do not twist my words."

"You want to know the truth. Hear it. I'm wearing this to piss Zaid off because he has time to be a member of the underworld, to sell drugs or to manage his hotels but not enough for his wife."

"But he's not here."

"Oh darling, he landed two days ago but didn't come home so I don't care if he'll come tonight or not. You and I are going to have fun at the beach," she said, swinging a hand across Hiba's shoulder and dragging her along.

But Hiba's sixth instinct told her that their definition of fun is quite different at the moment and she wasn't wrong because Isabella stopped the car of one of the beaches where she'll never dare going in her lifetime. Everyone called it, 'the dope hangout' for it has a fair, arcade, deli, dancing clubs, bars, wrong crowds mixing together with the good one. In short, it was a nightmare for a reserved girl like Hiba.

"We are going to have so much fun," Isabella said excitedly and Hiba forced a smile.

Like expected, the place was packed. All the neon lights from the Ferris wheel and other adrenaline pumped games were lit, screaming and loud chattering came from all sides. They could have simply gone to Jazzay Hotel and stayed there even after midnight, it would have been more fun than to be bumped into sweaty people all the time. Hiba had seemed to grow fond of its serenity and cleanliness.

"Let's eat first then we can try the haunted house or a rollercoaster," Isabella suggested.

Stepping inside the restaurant, Isabella didn't miss the looks she received from both genders. At the opposite end, people were dancing to latest hit and on this side; groups of people including couples and friends have amassed around the tables that had a perfect view to the dark blue ocean. Luckily for them there were still a few empty tables left.

They made their way to the corner one and a young man in floral shirt and khaki short came to take their orders.

"I'll be having this giant lamb burger with fries and a bottle of beer." Hiba lifted her head up instantly, eyes widened on her friend's reckless behavior.

"And what will you have, ma'am?" The waiter asked.

"Same but cancel the beer order and bring two Sprites instead. Thank you," Hiba answered in one-go, stunning the waiter for a moment and then he nodded. Once left, she lashed out at Isabella.

"I know you are angry at Zaid but don't forget you have your child in your womb right now. Don't do anything that will hurt him."

"Stop being my mom," Isabella said, placing her hand over Hiba's.

"I don't think you would have behave like this if auntie was here. Look, at this point, I don't think you need a friend to listen to you. You need professional advice."

"Boo-hoo, Hiba, I'm not psycho. I just share a love and hate relationship with my husband. I'm living a life that I didn't want or ever expect would happen. So if I don't let my emotions out in a wild and reckless way, I don't think I'll live for a long time because all these negative thoughts keep messing with my mind all the time. I kind of need this to feel normal."

"No, you don't because you are ruining yourself in the process."

"You are not the daughter of a man who goes against your morals or everything your religion stood for, you are not the wife of a man who has taken lives and is feared by many and you will certainly not be the mother of a child who will be born with enemies surrounding him. I know you wish good but you'll never fully understand me and I pray that never happen to you."

The way her voice broke brought tears into Hiba's eyes.

"Alright, if you want to live like this, do it but don't do anything that will harm your child, meaning an unhealthy meal for the last time, no smoking, no drinking and certainly no drugs."

"Okay mom," Isabella joked and the two girls laughed. At the same time their food was placed before and they started digging in.

While Hiba was fully immersed in the delicious burger, Isabella caught a guy sitting not too far giving her mixed signals. Physically he looks good but she can't help but think that her belly is well hidden beneath this dress or else he'll never gesture towards the dance floor. She didn't even look like a married woman right now. Feeling a little conflicted whether to accept or decline his dance proposal, Isabella's mind went to her husband.

Will Zaid be angry if he knew she danced with a hot man? Yes. Will it give her satisfaction because he chose the mafia world over her? Double yes.

"Want to dance?" She asked Hiba.

"Why would you even ask me something you know I'll refuse and since when do you dance?"

"Live a little, you good girl."

"Unfortunately this isn't my way of living the moment. But if you want to go, I won't stop or judge you."

Finishing her drink quickly, Isabella was soon walking towards the dance floor not before looking in the direction of the hot man. He caught the signal and smirked. Soon her hands were in the air and moving to the beat. Ironically, girls just want to have fun by Cyndi was on full blast.

Isabella can't think of the last time where she felt so independent and free like a bird. There was no family and no restriction, just her moving on a popular eighties song along with hundreds of strangers and having a little me-time.

Hiba was found alone in the restaurant as everyone was now on the dance floor. She smiled to herself and tried looking for her best friend but she was swallowed by the crowd. She felt far from comfortable but she sat silently looking at everyone dancing until she felt a weight plopped right next on the chair beside.

"Hey, want to get out of here?" The man with hard muscles and gelled tacky hair asked her. She looked around and back to the dance floor but no one seemed to be noticing her uneasiness.

"I think you should leave. I'm not alone," she said, mustering courage.

"I know you're here with a friend. She's hot, I have to say. Been watching you two for a while now but you are much cuter and I'd say you are exactly my type."

"Just leave me alone or I'll scream for help."

He lean closer and whispered loud in her ear. "I don't think anyone will hear you sweetheart."
