Facing Away (Broken Streetfighter)

Amy's POV

"NEVER!" The brown haired, green eyed, and freckled boy says before flipping our position.

I hate this position, it brings back too many memories. Memories of that night.

I struggle against him when I hear a slap. Skin hitting skin. I look to my left and see Emily with her hand raised facing Alexander.

I stop struggling, he turns to look at what's captured my attention. We watch as they argue, me with amusement, when I hear a ding from my phone.

I wiggle a bit, and then pull out my phone from my back pocket.

Riley:
Hey! :-)

I smile at the message. Riley was acting quite a bit weird on our phone call, but I'm going to let that slide. Maybe it was just nervous jitters from seeing us for the first time in like, five years.

Me:
Hey!

I hear another slap. Emily slapped Alex again. I giggle, then I hear another ding.

Riley:
Guess who's at our old hideout?

My eyes widen.

Riley:
I'm finally home <3

I'm met with familiar darkness when I soon faint from all events from today and last night.

I limp my way down the stairs to my church's basement.

After my father finished his beatings, he drove away, not even dropping us off at the church!

I let my siblings stay home due to the bruises they carried, but I had to do a reading so it was mandatory I show up.

I whimper as I finally reach the last step.

I get off the step at the same time losing my balance. I fall to the ground. I scream, a sob comes out. My body aches all over.

I hear footsteps and I see feet in my peripheral line of vision.

I look up. "Caleb." I whimper as I look into the eyes that bring me so much warmth.

He looks down at me, the bruises that are covering my body are in full view for anyone to see.

"Who did this to you?" His eyes look murderous.

"My father," I tell him honestly. He's the first person I ever told, which makes me feel guilty towards Emily.

"Caleb!" I call out thrashing around in my bed.

I groan as all my thrashing leads me to fall to the ground.
