"I mean every single word. You can be the one that puts him down, if it even comes down to that, but I will not stop until I'm in a world with Mack and 10K."

She finally spoke nothing in return, or tried to get me to change my mind. I could tell my words hung with her mind, permanently. Good.

"You won't die here." I promised him, lifting up his limp hand, "I got you."

Just when the leader of the Amish was telling the group they needed to come check on 10K, Addy began to fall from her height with the disease littering her body like human pollution intoxicating the planet.

As Vasquez and Warren entered the red barn the Amish had set up specifically for Serena and Murphy, Doc directed Vasquez to lay the new sickling onto the hay.

"She got it too?"

Doc took in the lumps that were forming beneath her skin, at the bottom of her angelic face. In the background of their conversation, Serena could be heard, huffing and breathing with Murphy.

They both used a labor technique that was always shown on romance shows or reality TV.

"How about you guys? Doc asked, leaning on the wooden rail that was set up to separate animals from each other.

"Standard military vaccine." Warren figured up from her time in the service.

It's a good thing, too.

"You inhaled that powder. How are you feeling?" Warren questioned back, noticing how Doc seemed completely normal.

But so did Addy, for the most part. By now, a fever should've set in or blisters beginning to appear on top of the skin.

"One-hundred-percent. Yeah, I'm totally fine." Doc shrugged his sore shoulders, not running a fever or feeling sick in any kind of way.

"Well, eighty-five-percent. I'm old." He tried to make light of the fact that his health was going to be steadily declining, even if he didn't catch a disease.

"You in the military, Doc?" Vasquez questioned his past, trying to make sense of the fact Doc was as healthy as any of them, despite being sprayed by the powder.

"U.S. Navy, Subic Bay. Why?"

"You'd have been vaccinated."

Warren stepped in, getting the dates in order for the newbie, "Not for anthrax; not back then."

"No, but for a whole boatload of other weird-ass crap."

"I don't even wanna know the weird ass-crap I got runnin' through my veins, amigo."

He was sure that the others would either be impressed or flustered if they ever saw his medical charts; the ones pre-Z and the ones now. The shit he's huffed, shot up in his body in an attempt to relax with decaying going around him, was extreme.

"Well, it seems to be working. "Vasquez jabbed his head to the side, adjusting his pants higher to his hips.

"It won't help Addy or 10K." Warren sighed, worrying about the knowledge she knew from (Y/N).

A plan was beginning to form in her head already, trying to keep everyone safe and alive with only the minimum casualties present.

"This is bad; this is really bad.." Doc muttered, knowing the possible outcomes of today.

They could walk out of this dying community without Addy or 10K, or both of them. He didn't know who was going to sooth (Y/N) from 10K's death, if it did happen. When an idea shot through his head, he was hesitant on speaking on it.
