10K hoisted Cassandra up into his arms as he stood back onto his feet, carrying her like a knight would do for the princess. My breath got stuck in my throat before I shook the feeling out of it. She needs him.

I can't possibly do what 10K's doing. Not with my wrists in their shape. I turned around, following Warren, Doc, and Murphy down the rest of the hallway with Cassandra and 10K right behind us.

We took a right once there was no other choice. The new corridor seemed more depressing than the area we were just in. Pipes were lining the walls instead of just paint on either side of us.

There was white, or if there wasn't, we could barely see the color due to the poor lighting. If a Z would come running down this hallway, we'd be screwed. This place really can't get any creepier than this.

Our leader led us towards a grey, thick-looking door that didn't look to have any light to give us a reassurance there was a better ending to this corridor.

I guess there is no 'calm before the storm'. We're already in the storm. What kind of underground lab is this?

We got closer to the thick egress, looking inside to see rave lights; red, warning lights shined on the other side of the door.

Red lights? In an underground lab? Always an amazing assurance we're getting out of here alive.

I stood behind Doc and Murphy with Cassandra and 10K behind me as the red lights began to bounce off of the walls through the small window.

"Can you see anything?" Doc worries, not knowing if one of us could see through the window.

"Hold on, a little too dark."

Warren reached down to her black utility belt for her handy-dandy flashlight. With a simple flick of a button, the bright white light began to shine for us to see better.

The white color clashed with the opposing red as she pressed the light to the window. I stood on my tippy-toes, placing a hand on Doc and Murphy's shoulders.

I could just barely see over Warren's head. A 'BIOHAZARD' sign above the next entrance flashed with the same warning lights on the ceiling to catch a person's attention.

Besides the eye-catching sign, the room seemed to be in better shape than this one. The corridor was, of course, a bland white painted over the cemented walls.

No pipes, no signs of life, and nothing that gave us hope someone was alive down here. There's always got to be obstacles before princes' can save the princess's, anyways.

We can do this. We've encountered more devil's than anyone else. Murphy made the first attempt to move pass Warren, but Doc grabbed his wrist and brought it back down to his side.

"Dude, it says 'QUARANTINE'." Doc sighed, indirectly begging Murphy to stop trying to push us forward.

The old man took out his flashlight and shined it to the board on top of this door, which indeed read 'QUARANTINE ZONE'.

Great.

"Can't we just believe them?"

Murphy rolled his eyes at the whiny man, "What are you? High? We're infected already, remember?"

He's right; it doesn't matter how you die, what you did, or what you didn't do. Somehow, someway the Z-Virus is in all of our systems.

Murphy succeeded the second time in pushing pass Warren and Doc to enter the room first.

Warren was right behind him with the working flashlight in her way to guide them to the other side.

Doc groaned quietly to himself before moving out of our way. He ushered the three of us inside so he could shut the door.

A way to assure himself nothing's going to creep up behind him or us.

"You'll be fine." I tried to encourage him of his hopeful future, patting his chest before catching up with the other two.

"Yeah, we'll see about that." Doc grumbled behind me.

I heard the quiet click of the door before Doc's own flashlight flickered on to help lead.

We walked under the red emergency lights for a good minute or two before standing in front of the door with 'BIOHAZARD' above it.

We can't turn back now; we've come this far. This time, Warren opened up the door.

Between the two different colored lights, I could make out three pillars in the middle of the corridor, lines of closed doors on either side of us, and an uneasy feeling throwing itself at me.

This isn't going to be good. I could barely see anything even with the help of Doc and Warren's lights.

They're not that overpowering like the emergency lights.

"What is this place?" I questioned the knowledge of everyone else, trying to keep up with the white lights Doc and Warren held.

I don't remember hospital's having this kind of room. Murphy broke formation as we all entered, walking straight to one of the grey, metallic doors.

"This isn't a hospital." Murphy confirmed my fears as he peeked through the window of his chosen door.

Doc walked beside Murphy while Warren disappeared somewhere into the room.

Doc peeked into the glass as well, "It's a goddamn hall of horrors."

I broke view of the two men and tried to find Warren. I just could make out her figure stand on her tippy-toes to look through a different door's window.

Something nudged me on my right elbow, making me look up in curiosity. 10K looked tired and Cassandra looked exhausted as they stood behind me.

I guess the bump was accidental considering it was Cassandra's shoe.
