"i mean, why can't they just be nice to each other and like each other? don't get me wrong, they're a blessing. but can't they just go without the drama? i'll just be going through the explore page on instagram and see all this stuff about someone called conor and then another thing about how one side of the fanbase hates the other, it's like a civil war. of course, tyler and i can't speak out about it because then we'd get accused of picking sides and they'd go even crazier- it just hurts to see people that all have one huge thing in common have so much hate between them." josh rambled on and on, it was quite obvious what he was talking about. well, to anyone who knew about his band. rosemary listened to what he had to say intently it seemed, her eyes not moving from josh as he spoke. she was, as jenna said, a really good listener.

"wait- you know what i'm talking about, right?" it occurred to josh that she was probably never properly informed that josh and tyler had a band. when rosemary shook her head, he couldn't help but laugh. he had made himself look like an idiot by rambling about some group of people that live on instagram. "tyler and i have a band called twenty one pilots, and our fan base - the clique - isn't too nice to each other. another thing, can they not just respect our privacy? i get that it's cool to feel closer to a band you like by finding old pictures and stuff, but crashing a wedding just to meet one of the members? i had to profusely apologize to the bride and groom because of that."

josh went on for hours just emptying out his guts, and rosemary didn't look bored even once. by the time josh finished talking, four hours had passed. he only stopped because he was starting to get thirsty, one could imagine his shock when he noticed how long he had been talking without stop. it had felt like fifteen minutes, not four hours.

"wow, i've been talking your ear off for four hours- i'm so sorry, i'll shut up." josh nervously laughed and scratched the back of his neck, turning his gaze from her eyes. how had she listened to him talk for that long and not killed him? he would've been so bored by then.

the silence only lasted a few minutes before josh took a breath and began to talk again, making rosemary chuckle a bit. silently, of course. like always. "do you have any water- what? what's funny?" josh couldn't help but begin to laugh with her, her smile was contagious. her teeth weren't big or small, they were vibrantly white, perfectly aligned, dentists probably loved her.

rosemary shook her head and stood up from the couch, walking into the kitchen and coming back with a water bottle. josh watched her every move, and he was so preoccupied doing so he almost didn't catch the water bottle when rosemary tossed it to him. "no really, what's so funny?" he asked again, poking her side. she retracted from his finger. josh poked her again, and e did the same. she bit her lip to try and contain the obvious smile on her face, which only made josh smile wider.

"ticklish, are we?" he poked again, and she had to swat his hand away as she laughed. it was the first time he had seen her way of laughter, he usually just got a mere chuckle. "what was so funny, hm?" he scooted closer and attacked her sides with his fingers innocently, her squirming beneath him and laughing wildly - well, as far as he could tell. rosemary shook her head through the laughs and reached over, managing to grab a pen and paper to write down her response.

"you managed to keep quiet for a whole three minutes and thirty-seven seconds." josh read to himself, the smile immediately coming back onto his face so he could laugh at himself. "dang, i can manage to drone for four hours but i can't shut up for four minutes? i don't know how you deal with me." josh joked, handing her back the paper. to his surprise, she wrote something down again and handed it back. this was close to the most dialogue he'd gotten from her, though it wasn't really dialogue.

"i don't know either, honestly." josh was almost hurt, but by the goofy smile on rosemary's face, he assumed she was kidding. he hoped she was kidding, actually. "well, get used to it. you're a great listener, i must admit." josh was going to put the paper down, thinking she wouldn't take it farther than what she had. but before he could, she plucked it out of his fingers and began writing again. "i can't do much else, can i?" she left the conversation there and so did josh, them both just laughing it off. then, josh started on again about whatever he pleased. specifically, how great tyler is as a friend. rosemary didn't mind one bit. his voice was nice.

a/n: do y'all even like rosemary lmao idk if i even like her and she's my own character. fun fact; i hated ashlynn at first. then she grew on me and i literally almost cried killing her off. i've had that shit planned since day one though, fun fact 2.0

also, how the fuck do you get a ranking on a story i crave the satisfaction of seeing something of mine has a ranking somewhere in fanfiction. that sounded conceded. idk, i just wanna know that this is getting somewhere. which, by the way, i never thank you guys enough for milestones. we're at 40,000 reads... that's almost 600 people if you divide it by full read throughs. damn, y'all.
