josh ended up climbing into the bed with rosemary out of sheer exhaustion, his own singing almost putting himself to sleep. he found that rosemary cuddled to up him as soon as he got into the bed, but he didn't mind at all.

he stared at the ceiling and let the sound of her breathing fill the air, the sound of her voice still resonating in her mind. it was indescribable, nothing like he imagined. he always thought she had to have some flaw of some kind, and he assumed that flaw was her voice. he pictured her voice like a smoker's, or maybe really deep, but it was perfect. just like her.

but little did josh recognize that she was far from perfect. she and many others could clearly mark each and every flaw of her. for every flaw she saw, he saw greatness. her impulsivity was a red flag to others, but josh saw it as a risk that he didn't often think to take. her secretiveness usually drove people away, but of course, josh found it alluring. she was like a puzzle he thought he was so close to solving, only to come to find he had barely finished the border.

when josh woke up to the light peaking through the curtains of the room, he noticed rosemary was in his arms. her head was resting on his chest, still sound asleep. he shifted a bit in an attempt to make himself get up, but he could have sworn he saw the corners of rosemary's lips turn down the smallest bit. he returned back to his spot with her head on his chest, and he couldn't help but let his eyes flutter shut and fall back to sleep.

he soon woke up to soft singing, but it was more than one voice. the warmness that was next to him before he fell back asleep was gone, telling josh rosemary had gotten up soon after he had. he sat up and swung his legs over the side of the bed, wincing when his feet hit the cold floor. he grabbed some socks and threw them on, then warily walking out of the bedroom to be hit with light from all directions. the windows weren't open before, rosemary must have opened them.

he was drawn to the small kitchen of the suite by a sweet smell, and the closer he came to the room the more clear the singing became. once he walked in he saw rosemary with her back turned to him, slightly swaying to the music as she flipped pancakes. josh couldn't help but chuckle a bit, noticing the record player on the table. it looked older than either of them, and the record playing was all 50s music. the chordettes, the album read. josh wouldn't complain, the music wasn't bad. lollipop was playing right then, and he had to sing along.

"lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli- lolli- lolli- lollipop, lollipop," he chorused, walking to the refrigerator with a skip in his step, then taking a water and tossing it in the air to catch again. rosemary didn't seem to mind, she just kept flipping pancakes.

lollipop ended, and so came the next song. mr. sandman by the same group, and it for some reason struck a note in josh. he waltzed over to rosemary and held out his hand, a smirk on his face. "may i have this dance?" he used his best 'posh' voice, but he failed miserably.

rosemary chuckled silently and shook her head, waving her hand. josh knew she couldn't say she didn't dance, because at that party she was a dancing machine.

"come ooonnnn, pleeeaaasse?" josh took one of her hands that wasn't in the pan and held it, using that ever so famous stare to his advantage. after staring into his eyes with a stone face, rosemary gave in and rolled her eyes, turning off the burner on the stove. josh pulled her to the middle of the kitchen, holding the same hand as before in one hand, his other hand resting on his waist.

the smile on her face became more visible the more they danced, which just sparked josh's happiness. she raised the hand holding josh's above her head and twirled outwards, then coming back to him. a soft smile rested on rosemary's face.

josh waited a few seconds before leading her to twirl to the side, then back to him. unexpectantly though, when she came back he dipped down. rosemary raised her eyebrows once she was back on two feet, impressed with josh's dance.
