***Dawn's POV***

"Princess Dawn Dominguez? How are you?"

"Khione." I acknowledged her first. "I'm good." I forced a smile because she was smiling at me with excitement in her eyes.

Khione was my classmate in Sisters of Mary for two years-- Sophomore and Junior years. At sa dalawang taon na naging magkaklase kami, there was no time na naging close kami. Tamang usap lang, tamang magkaklase. Magka-iba kasi talaga kami ng trip. She was more into beauty, fashion and glamour, samantalang ako, academics and extra curricular activites lang inaatupag ko. She was friendlier as well, lahat na yata halos ng estudyante sa Sisters of Mary kilala niya dahil sa palagian niyang pangangampanya tuwing dadating ang Miss Sisters of Mary Pageant.

"Ahem!" I heard Vince cleared his throat. Anong gusto niyang gawin ko? Tumingin ako sa kanya and I rolled my eyes.

"Uhm. Classmate ko siya sa Sisters of Mary." I then faced the one beside me. "Siya naman ang Class President namin." At may bigla akong naisip. "Anong section ka pala?"

"I'm from class 4-2.

"Why transfer in the first place?" Vince asked Khione. I got curious and waited for her to answer. She looked at him and she looked hesitant. After a few seconds, she started to speak.

"Sisters of Mary is no longer safe." She looked down at her plate and played with her food using her fork. "I love that school. I mean, I've made a lot of memories there and got a number of good friends as well. But my safety is my father's priority, so I had to leave."

I pursed my lips and saw sadness and worry on Vince's face.

"Is it already that bad?" I asked Khione.

She put down her fork on the side of her plate and looked at me. "You were there in the first two years when those deaths occured. Did you know that Anastacia, your best friend, is already dead?" Mahina niyang sabi. But there's something different in her tone. Parang kasalanan ko na namatay siya. Or was it just sadness and pain?

Tumango ako bago nagsalita, "She's the last one." I tried my best not to cry.

"Life was so hard in Sisters of Mary. Students started to transfer or drop out because what's happening."

"Tss. Those stupid authorities aren't doing any good. Wala nga silang makuhang lead, eh. All they give us were false reassurance and broken promises. Mga wala silang kwenta." I clenched my fist under the table. Walang pag-usad.
