Please don't let anyone but Derek be home.

Please don't let anyone but Derek be home.

Actually, please don't let Derek be home.

I  was greeted with an empty living room. I tried to do the sniffing thing but I quickly gave up, cursing my bad werewolf skills. I knew someone was home; the alarm was off and I could sense it in some way. I really need to learn more about this whole werewolf thing. It has been a couple of months and I still didn't know shit.

I shrugged off my thoughts and nervously walked in. I looked around silently to decide where I should search first until I saw a shadow in the corner of my eye. It came from the balcony.

The shadow didn't move and didn't looked like it wasn't paying too much attention. I slowly walked around the corner.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Derek asked me with a sweet voice after he revived from the heart attack I gave him. He obviously hadn't heard me enter his apartment.

HE'S HOME. I'M DEAD. I CAN'T TURN BACK. I NEED TO THINK OF SOMETHING. I'M REALLY GONNA RIP LYDIA APART FOR MAKING ME DO THIS.

"Are you okay?" Derek said concerned. "Your heart is pounding really fast."

To be honest, I didn't really know what to do next. I knew that if I opened my mouth, nothing would come out. I need to show it by actions. And there is only one way I know.

Strangely enough I actually followed Lydia's advice. I did what I thought was best and carefully stepped closer to Derek. He had no idea what I was doing but didn't step back. He kept staring in my eyes. He was clearly confused but that was only logical.

I gently placed my left hand on his chest. A place which was coincidentally just above his heart. I could feel his heart beat slightly faster than normal as I stepped my last step towards him. We were basically inches away from an intimate hug.

I kept looking up into his eyes but I wasn't sure what his expression was. It could still be confused but I didn't think it was.

I slowly managed to build up the courage to hover my face in front of his. Our lips were mere inches away but I didn't have the courage to close the tiny space.

Suddenly I felt Derek place his hands on my waist and closed the space between us. Our lips touched and I felt this warm tingling feeling in my stomach.

My brain malfunctioned. Literally no thought crossed my mind as we kissed. The kiss wasn't long and it was slightly awkward since I didn't know how to kiss.

Even though I really liked Derek, the first kiss was far from perfect. I was way too nervous and I was a bit stiff which the whole kiss even more awkward. But I didn't care.

When we finally pulled back, I couldn't help but grin. Derek smiled back at me. I felt my ears heat up from his gaze and hid my face in his chest, which made him laugh silently. He wrapped his arms around me. I hadn't even realized how cold I was until I felt Derek's body heat warm me up.

"How are you not cold?" I asked him after a while. I slightly leaned back to see his face but his arms around my waist kept me in place.

"I haven't been outside for a long time. You walked here didn't you?" I nodded "You should really learn how to drive."

"Tss. Driving is overrated." I said with a grin. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket but I decided to ignore it.

"Says the girl who can't drive."

My phone buzzed again, twice in a row. "Walking is healthier."

"I don't think you need the exercise." he said with a grin. My phone kept buzzing. Even Derek looked curious. I rolled my eyes and got my phone out of my pocket.
