Why did you choose to cover this song?
I chose this song because of the feeling behind the words. There's a connection to this song that I find myself having and I can completely relate to the hurt that Demi Lovato has whilst singing it. I chose to cover this song because it makes me feel something and ultimately I feel that it's important that music makes you FEEL something. Whether it be happiness, sadness, anguish, anger, etc.
What does music mean to you?
To describe what music means to me is quite a difficult question. Music has been with me from a very young age - it's been my comfort. My partner in crime. My happy place. Music means the world to me, if it were to simply disappear - I'm not sure if life would be the same. Music is the only constant thing in life - when you're happy? Listen to music. When you're angry? Listen to music! Stressed - music!! Upset or sad? First eat some chocolate, THEN BLAST SOME MUSIC!!! Music is such an important thing in my life that it's become a part of me, a part of my soul. I can't go without it.
What do you love about performing?
For me, it's that moment when I start singing and the crowd grows silent. When people's whispers die down and they all look to see who is singing. It's when my eyes sweep over the crowd and I can see smiles, people slowly bopping their heads to the sound of the music and overall people just enjoying the sound of my voice. It's the happiness that music brings not only to me, but the people around me.
Who/What are your major artistic influences?
Most definitely Adele, Demi Lovato, but most of all Billie Eilish. All these ladies have such strong vocals and this insane ability to draw you in no matter what they are singing. I bet they can even make "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" sound soulful. I love the way these women sing with their hearts, souls and everything they have. They don't sing 'just because', they sing because it's WHO THEY ARE. Music is them and they are music. If there's anyone I aspire to be like it's them - ESPECIALLY Billie Eilish. I love how she's her own person and just tried not to let the music industry suck her in with "you need to look like this" or "you need to sing like this." She's THE inspiration and influence right there.
