Why did you choose to cover this song?
I chose to cover this song because it's always been one of my favourite songs, and I don't mind singing it every now and then, so why not record it? My neighbours can vouch for me on that one—sorry about that. This song always gets me so pumped, and I just love the energy that comes from it. It is one of the few songs that for me can lift even the darkest of moods. I've always loved listening to Imagine Dragons and this song is just it for me. I can't get enough of it, and for me, it's one of those songs that you can't help but sing along to :)
What does music mean to you?
To me, music is beautiful. I have anxiety so I only ever do it anonymously, but singing just... it gives me such a great feeling. Anything you can't say with words, you can say with music and I think that's pretty cool. I like music because it can make you excited, but it can also make you cry. I like how music makes me feel things when I'm singing or even just listening to it. I listen to music almost 24/7. I listen to music in the car, on the train, while I'm doing my homework, while I'm playing with my cat. I use music to escape from the world and it is very rare if someone sees me walking around without headphones in. My longest playlist is almost three days long!
What do you love about performing?
I wish I could perform in front of people, but that's just not me. But being anonymous and singing, people don't focus on who I am or what I look like, like when you watch a video, they just hear my voice. Singing just makes me feel alive. Although I should probably rethink it when I'm at the tail-end of a cold, like right now...
Who/what are some of your major artistic influences?
Some of my major artistic influences are Alessia Cara, BANNERS, Fleurie, Imagine Dragons, Lewis Capaldi, Ruelle, The Score, and The Script.
