Khadijah

"So I'm really p-pregnant?"

"Yes you are a month and a half to be exact."

"Hawaii." I whispered.

"Hold on Doc, so you tellin' me," Trey stopped and put his head in his hands, "you tellin' me my baby havin' my baby?"

"Yes indeed I am. And now I'm going to provide you a prescription for your prenatal vitamins, and then we'll go ahead and set up your next appointment." Doctor Chan explained.

Everything he was saying went in one ear and out of the other. I can't believe I'm about to be a mom, I mean I'm happy, but also worried.

"Hello, earth to Ms. Watts." Doctor Chan waved his hand in my face.

"What? Sorry. This is, a lot."

"I'll give you two some time." He stood up and walked out the door.

"What's goin' on baby?"

"I'm scared."

"Of?"

"Parenthood, I'm a mess, I can barely take care of myself let alone a child. What if I'm not good enough to be a mom? What if something happens and they end up how I did, in foster care bouncing from home to home?" I rambled.

"Look, this is new to me too, I don't know the first thing about having a baby but I do know that with you by my side I'll be the best dad ever. Ain't nothin' gone happen to our baby because we are strong and we gone make sure they are well taken care of and that they are our number one priority. You just gotta trust the process mama, Ight, God doesn't put us through nothin' that we can't handle. You hear me?" He pulled me into his chest and hugged me tight.

"Yes, I love you so much baby daddy." I smiled.

"I love you more baby mama."

"Go get the Doctor." I sat up and pulled my self together.

Once Trey walked out the room I put my hands on my stomach and smiled. This very well may be our blessing in disguise.

I leaned back in my chair and looked up to the ceiling.

"You're a grandma now mama."

Trinity

For the past few weeks I've been avoiding Sean and doing my own thing, I've seen him here and there around the school but I guess he caught on that I don't want to be with him.

Last week he popped up at my house and tried to convince me that he was changed but I told him that if he came near me again I'd get a restraining order against him.

"Miss Trinity, I need to speak with you after class." Professor Daniels said quietly as he passed my desk handing out papers.

I was confused as to what he could possibly need to speak with me about but I just nodded my head and flipped my paper over.

My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw a big fat F on the top. How did I get an F on this essay that I worked so hard on, I did everything right, from citing my work, to the punctuation.

Thirty minutes later class was dismissed and I stayed in my seat as everyone else filed out of the room. Professor Daniels stood in the hall until all the students were gone and then returned to the room.

"Okay lets get straight to the point," he sat on the edge of his desk, "it's been brought to my attention that you've been turning in duplicated assignments to your classes Miss Trinity, and that is not acceptable in my class. I told all of you in the beginning of the semester that I don't tolerate cheating, or plagiarized papers." He stated.
