Gracies POV (6 Years Old)

I sat in the break room feeling boredom take over me with a weary sigh. I was waiting for Jay to get back to the district so we could go home. Just then I heard footsteps coming up the stairs but I stayed put, knowing that's what Jay had told me to do. There was a slight knock on the break room door before Adam appeared with an unreadable look on his face,

"Where's Jay?" I asked with a slight frown "I wanna go home" I said in a slightly whiny tone. Adam sighed as he sat down next to me and put a comforting hand on my shoulder,

"Jay's erm" he began as he ran a hand across his face "Jay's had to go to Med" he informed as my frown deepened slightly,

"To see Will?" I asked confused as Adam gave me a smile. But it wasn't his normal cheeky smile. It was different...sad almost.

"Not exactly" he shook his head "Jay's had a bit of an accident so an ambulance has taken him to the hospital to make him better" he explained as my heart dropped,

"Is he ok?" I asked as tears welled up in my eyes,

"He's with the best people Gracie, they're gonna make him better" he said comfortingly as he pulled me in for a bear hug,

"I wanna see Will" I cried as Adam rubbed my back in soothing circles,

"Ok, we can do that" he confirmed in a gentle tone as he pulled me away and wiped a few stray tears from my cheeks. He helped me put my jacket on and grabbed my hand as we walked to his car.

Once we arrived at Med Adam carried me in to the building and in to a waiting room which was filled with the rest of the intelligence team. The all gave me sympathetic smiles as I kept my grip on Adam tight,

"Hey Maggie" Adam greeted the nurse "could you let Will know that Gracie's here" he asked and she nodded sadly,

"I'll page him right now" she said as Adam walked back over to the rest of the group where he encouraged me to let him go, but I didn't budge. He sat down and I stood in between his legs, still keeping my arms around his neck. I know it might be stupid, but I'm scared and I've always had a special connection with Adam. Don't get me wrong, I love everyone in the task force. I just always connected to Adam the most. He's like a third big brother. Just then a stressed looking Will walked through the doors,

"Will" I shouted as I ran over to him and allowed him to pick me up and give me a kiss on the head,

"Hey baby girl" he greeted with a slight smile,

"Where's Jay?" I asked with a frown "Adam said he's had an accident" I said,

"Yeah he has" he confirmed with sadness evident in his voice causing tears to fall from my eyes once again,

"I don't want Jay to die Will" I sobbed in to his neck as he carried me off to the doctors lounge where he sat down on the sofa and kept me in his lap.

"Jay's not gonna die Gracie" he said with a sigh causing me to look up at him hopefully,

"Really?" I asked as I swallowed down a hiccup,

"Really" he confirmed "Jay's pretty sick and Dr Marcel has done an operation on him to make him feel better" he explained "and with a little time and help from the doctors he'll be better in no time" he comforted as I silently nodded as I put my head back down on his chest enjoying to comfort.

We stayed like that for the next twenty minutes until April opened the door and quietly came in,

"Hey, good news" she said with a slight smile "Jays out of theatre and they're bringing him back down shortly" she said "Dr Halstead, a word?" She asked my brother who nodded a lifted me off his lap,
