Truth or Dare

Gracies POV (7 Years Old)

"Ok Gracie, truth or dare?" Ami turned to me with our three other friends. I thought about my answer and remembered the kind of questions my other friends had been asked,

"Dare" I said confidently and a chorus of 'ooooo's' rang out through my friend group,

"I dare you to break in to the teachers lounge and draw a massive smiley face on the wall with this" Ali said with an evil smirk as she pulled out a can of spray paint from her rucksack. My eyes widened in horror. She can't be serious.

"I can't do that!" I exclaimed in horror,

"Why not?" She questioned "are you chicken?" She challenged and I narrowed my eyes,

"I'm not!" I huffed,

"Prove it" she dared. With a determined huff I snatched the can from her hand and began my trek across the playground and snuck in to the school. I snuck down the hall towards the teachers lounge ad found it to be empty. Most of the teachers had gone back to their classrooms to prepare for the afternoons lessons. I pulled a chair out from one of the tables and climbed up on to it. I didn't allow myself to take ay time to think about my actions before I pressed the cap down and began to draw a giant circle on the wall."Gracelyn Halstead" my teachers voice rang through the halls "principals office. Now" he added.

My heart sunk to my stomach as I was led down the hallway and towards the principals office,

"Sit here whilst I go and talk to the principal" the teacher instructed and I did as I was told. The wait was long and agonising but eventually the teacher reappeared with the terrible (yet not shocking news) that my brothers had been called and someone was coming in to collect me. I'm dead. I can't believe I did that!

I sat and nervously picked at my fingers before I heard footsteps walking down the hallway. My heartbeat quickened and I shuffled nervously in my seat before looking up to meet Will's darkened eyes,

"I thought you would be at work" I said confused as my oldest brother sat down next to me,

"My shift starts in thirty minutes" he explained firmly "I don't know what goes on in your head sometimes Gracie I really don't" he lectured "you just wanna thank your lucky stars Jay was stuck on a case" he added,

"Ah, you must be Will" the principal said as he walked out of his office and shook hands with my brother "come in" he said as Will led me in to the office and sat down opposite the desk.

Time Skip

"I'm really sorry Will" I tried to apologise to my brother as we walked to his car,

"I don't wanna hear it right now Gracelyn" he snapped "I'm so disappointed in you" he added. That stung. I could feel tears stream from my eyes as Will pulled out of the school carpark and began to drive. A confused frown found it's way on to my face as we drove past med and continued down the road,

"Where are we going?" I asked confused as we stopped at some traffic lights,

"I'm dropping you off at the district" he said sharply,

"Nooo" I cried "please Will" I pleaded "I don't wanna see Jay yet" I sobbed,

"Tuff luck" he shrugged "you should've thought about that before you did what you did" he added.

The rest of the drive was filled with my crying and the odd sniffle before Will pulled up outside of the district and hopped out. He walked round to my door and opened it with an expectant look,

"C'mon. Out." he instructed,

"Please Will" my bottom lip wobbled "I don't wanna" I cried and he reached over and unbuckled my seatbelt,
