Overtired

Gracies POV (5 Years Old)

"I don't wanna go to bed" I screamed as I stomped my foot on the floor,

"Gracie" Lucy my babysitter warned "your brother is gonna be home any minute and he's not gonna be happy if you're not at least ready for bed" she warned but I shook my head determinedly,

"NO" I defied "I don't need a bedtime" I stated,

"Well I think that's something you need to talk to your brothers about" she replied "but I have a feeling they're not gonna agree with you" she added. Just then the sound of keys in the door caught my attention "right, if you're super quick and go get your pj's on now, he doesn't need to know about it" she compromised,

"I DON'T WANNA!" I screamed just as Will walked in to the kitchen,

"Hey, why are you screaming?" He asked me firmly with a frown,

"I DON'T WANNA" I repeated and Lucy sighed,

"She's refusing to get ready for bed" she informed my brother who now looked less than impressed,

"Gracie" Will warned making me screech furiously and stamp my foot "Gracelyn" he repeated "stop this right now and go get changed for bed" he ordered,

"NO" I defied as he crossed his arms over his chest,

"Right then, you're getting a time out" he said simply as he walked over to me and marched me over to the corner,

"I don't want a time out" I sobbed "stop Will" I demanded and he raised an eyebrow at my order,

"Excuse me, who's in charge here?" He asked me in a tone that left no room for argument,

"You and Jay" I mumbled,

"Excuse me?" He prompted,

"You and Jay" I repeated louder,

"Exactly" he agreed "any who's in charge when we're not here?" He pushed,

"Me" I lied and he tilted his head to the side in a sign on disagreement,

"You certainly are not" he put his foot down "now I'm sure Lucy wants to go home and I want you to apologise to her before she does" he ordered,

"NO" I screamed in to his face and his stare hardened,

"I'm sorry Lucy I promise you'll get an apology tomorrow" Will said to my babysitter,

"Don't worry about it, bye Gracie" she gave a small wave that only increased my anger,

"Gracelyn" my brother said in a raised voice making my tummy do funny flips,

"Bye" I mumbled causing him to shake his head disappointedly. He left the room to show Lucy out before returning a few seconds later "I don't wanna go to bed" I sobbed with the best puppy dog eyes I could muster. The same puppy dog eyes that worked on Adam last night,

"Well you're gonna so you might as well do it now before you land yourself in bigger trouble" he replied,

"I want Adam" I screamed causing him to raise an eyebrow at my statement whilst mumbling something under his breath,

"Why, because he lets you do whatever you want?" Will asked knowingly and my scowl deepened,

"He doesn't spank me" I stated and my brother sighed,

"Well maybe he would if you behaved like this with him" he retorted "I'm not gonna argue with you about this Gracie" he said simply "now, I want you to get back in that corner and wait there for five minutes" he repeated his earlier instruction. I stood my ground and crossed my arms over my chest in a sign of defiance "Gracelyn Halstead, if you don't put your nose in that corner in the next three seconds you'll be going over my knee instead" he threatened.
