When people thought we were doing the dirty...

AUGUST - 2012

"Tape," I said, extending my hand out to Gwen behind me.

She handed me another piece and I quickly pinned it above the poster.

"Alright," I finished, wiping my hands. "We're done."

I stepped off of Gwen's bed and took a look around the room.

"I love it!" Gwen smiled, wrapping her arms around my waist.

"Good." I told her, rubbing her back.

She looked up at me. "Now what do we do?"

"We can go see a movie."

"Like, at the theater?"

"Why not?"

"What's out?"

"I don't know. Wanna just go and see? And if not, we can just go to the mall."

Gwen nodded. We both retrieved our jackets and told her parents we'd be leaving to the mall.

"Do you need any money?" Denise asked towards her daughter.

"I've got it." I told her.

"Don't be silly, Kyle."

"Seriously, Mrs. Conrad, it's fine." I bluntly stated. I still wasn't okay with their new rules with Gwen but I decided to keep it cool.

"Alright, well just in case." She handed Gwen the money and then we left.

"Has she said anything about changing your curfew?" I questioned, buckling Gwen's seatbelt.

"No."

They should trust me more than this. The car ride to the mall was quiet. We didn't say much, the only interaction being our hands intertwined. I kept my eyes on the road until my phone began to buzz in my pocket.

"Want me to get that?"

"Sure."

Gwen reached in for my pocket, taking out my phone with slight difficulty.

"You have two text messages: one from... Sheila... and another from Kory."

"Read Kory's first."

Gwen complied, opening the message.

"He said he doesn't have class tomorrow so he can go on Skype."

"Tell him I'll call him later."

Then my phone began to buzz again, only this time it was a call.

"Oh, he's calling."

"Answer it."

"Hey, Kory," Gwen greeted, putting the call on speaker.

"Gweny? You and KyKy are at the stage where you guys are answering each other's phones? How cute!" he gushed.

"What do you want, Kory?" I deadpanned, rolling my eyes.

"I can't just call my little brother to say hi?"

"Well, you never do that, so what's up?"

"I just feel a little lonely."

"Go out."

"HA HA! As if I have money to go out!"

"Kory, you need a life."

"I have a life. I'm in college."

"When you're in college, you don't have a life, though." Gwen pointed out.
