Stiles looks at his hands. Why is the pack meeting so boring. Normally it is fun. But there is something going on, and he doesn't know what.

The werewolves are acting weird. Like something is going to happen. And if something is going to happen they need to tell him. He is like the brains of the pack. He always makes the plans.

He looks at the alpha. "What is going on?" Derek looks at him but doesn't say anything. How is he supposed to tell him that they are probably going to die? He wanted to tell Stiles that Stiles was his mate. But if he tells now, and he'll die ...

But what if Stiles rejects him. He'll die and won't have to live with a broken heart. "Stiles, we have a fight tonight" Scott breaks the silence. He doesn't like to keep secrets from his best friend. "Why didn't you guys tell me?" Stiles starts to get mad.

"We didn't want you to worry" Isaac sights. "We are going to fight against a really dangerous alpha. He'll probably kill us" Stiles looks at them. "And what if one of you die. And I didn't know about the fight. Then I couldn't even say goodbye". He sights and stand up. "You guys are like family. And I care about you. All of you. Please don't keep things from me" they nod.

Isaac looks at the time. "We need to go" the werewolves stand up. "You guys go already. I need to talk to Stiles" they nod. Derek looks at Lydia. "Can you leave for a few minutes? I want to talk in private" she nods and follows the others.

Stiles looks at him. What does he want to tell him? That he isn't pack? That they don't need him? "Stiles I need to tell you something really important." Stiles nods.

"You are my mate" Stiles looks at him. He did read about mates. A werewolf can have a human as mate, but it almost never happens. The wolf inside a werewolf decides who the mate is.

Derek looks hurt and turns around. He really likes Stiles. Is Stiles really rejecting him. Without saying anything he walks out of his loft. Maybe this is the last time he will see his loft.

Stiles is still shocked. Of course he cared about Derek. And he had a little crush on him. But he didn't know that Derek could feel the same. Does Derek like him? Or is it just the wolf inside Derek?

Stiles stays at Derek's loft. He tries to make his homework, but he can't concentrate. What if Derek dies? Stiles will be heartbroken.

He screams and trows his book to the other side of the loft. He hears noise at the other side of the door. Its been a few hours. Scott and Isaac walk in the room. "Where is Derek?" Stiles stand up. Derek walks in the loft. He is bloody and looks really weak. Stiles runs to him and puts his lips on Derek's.

Isaac and Scott smile and look at their best friend and their alpha. They see Derek healing. Derek and Stiles stop kissing and Derek smiles. He smiles.

Stiles smiles back and hugs him. "I love you idiot" Derek hugs him back and ignores the pain. He'll deal with the pain later. His mate loves him back and his wolf is happy. Derek is happy
