Contest #39

It's always so much fun to talk to everybody, and my interactions with you all have been largely positive! You are all exceptionally interesting. I feel like I have a million friends now and I've taken to calling y'all my Fireflies. Have fun with that.

In addition, last week's results are still on the way. I just need a little bit more time and I'll have them up.

The Contest:

I have a bazillion and two different contest ideas every week, and it's only usually when I type these out that I throw all those ideas away and super-secret option number bazillion and three.

This is exactly like that.

This week it's going to be something like build-your-own-story, where I give you the pieces and you fit them together however you like.

So, choose one (or more) options from each category, and piece that story together.

Category 1: The Main Character:

Sarah Anne Dower, the Grim Reaper's intern.Miss Strange, the curator of curious artefacts.Hanson Livid, the cop that's way too tired of this.Portland Meyer, the philosophy student by day, the Mafia's pawn by night.Kai Red, the man who always gets to the truth.Valentine Greene, the girl who has had a long string of bad relationships.

Category 2: The Plot:

A lot of people around town suddenly developed a craving for Big Burger's Daily special.The local violin teacher has simply disappeared without a trace.Milah's Destiny, the biggest, baddest band, is coming to town, and they have a sinister agenda.An unexpected visit to the hospital, a mysterious bouquet of flowers, and a snowstorm in the middle of summer.The hottest new MMORPG is released, and everybody's playing it.

Category 3: The Theme:

Fire. Wild, wild, fire. Passions inflamed, the forests burn, the world drowns in ash.Victory. Sweet, sweet victory. Golden trophies, hard work pays off, and a pure stroke of luck.History. It repeats itself. The past haunts you, the lessons are re-learned, and the mistakes are more severe this time.Light. It glows, it fades, it guides and it distracts with glitter and gold in the deepest of nights.Science. Technology surpasses human design.

Category 4: The Wildcard:

The charming gentleman.The chaotic painter.The lover of flowers.The rain god.The connoisseur of wine.The chainsmoker.

Alrighty, that's it.

This week's judging criterion is that I'm looking at how well these prompts are integrated into the story, and how well that functions.

Keep the story at a max of 1500 words, and I hope you have all the fun!

Due date is on Sunday the 24th of March.

VERY IMPORTANT: HOW TO ENTER A VALID ENTRY

In order to ensure that your submission for this week's chapter of Weekly Wattpad Contests is valid, please follow the steps below:

(1) Write your entry and make sure that it meet the guidelines or requirements for the contest.

(2) Publish it in a book under your Wattpad account. It can be a book dedicated to your entries, a chapter in one of your existing books or just a book with that single entry.

(3) Add "This is my entry for Weekly Wattpad Contest #39" before you write your entry. Make sure Contests is tagged and the contest #number is correct. Note that this does not have to be the title of your published chapter or work, simply just a text input before the introduction of your contest entry as an additional safety measure.

(4) Comment in the comment section of this chapter and state where your entry was published in your profile and the title of it book it is in.

(5) Share the love by voting, commenting and encouraging friends and fellow competitors!

What does the winner get?

Apart from the fact that as a writer you can brag about winning a freaking Weekly Wattpad Contest, the winner will also get a follow from as well as a shoutout in the next chapter, in addition to that, a detailed review as to why your entry was successful will also be published and if you have any works of your own, that will also be read and commented on.
