You planned out the perfect weekend for you and Matt. You suggested driving to the beach and spending the weekend away. Matt didn't think twice about approving the idea, so you went shopping for your trip.

The funny thing about plans that you and Matt made, they were changed at the last minute or cancelled. This time was no different. You and Matt arrived home when you got a phone call from your parents, announcing their visit tomorrow morning, which means your weekend had to be cancelled.

"It's okay" Matt said, sitting beside you on the couch, even though he was disappointed. "It'll be good to finally meet your parents"

His smile didn't last long when you told him you didn't want him to meet your Mom and Dad because you hadn't told them about the relationship yet.

"You haven't told your parents about me?" Matt was shocked and he didn't know how to react to the news.

"They know about you!" You argued, but he didn't feel any better. "They just..don't know we're together"

"Oh, that's okay" Matt sighed in relief. "We'll tell them when they get here"

"About that.."

"What?" Matt stared at you and you knew you were in trouble.

"I may have ..accidentally told them.." you held your breath, thinking about the worst lie you made since they day you met Matt. "I told them you were gay.."

"What?"

"And that you had a boyfriend"

"Y/N!"

"I'm sorry. They were so against me sharing an apartment with a guy I barely knew" you said, avoiding his gaze. You hated when he looked at you like that.

"We hated each other back then, so I thought if they came to visit, you wouldn't be speaking to them, so I didn't think you'd find out" you said, slowly looking up at him. "Don't be mad. I love you"

"You can't tell me you love me and get it over with. Tell them the truth!"

"You don't know my parents. I'll tell them at some point but now isn't the right time" you held your arms in front of your chest. "You don't have to agree with me, go stay with Chris until they leave and I'll tell them your on vacation"

"I'm not going anywhere. You need to fix this mess"

"Help me out. They'll be here tomorrow. You-"

Your phone buzzing cut you off. Matt didn't know what message was, but he could tell it was only bad news.

"They're here" you threw your phone on the couch. "They're outside and you're standing here. I'm dead"

Matt had often seen you lose your shit, but this has been the worst. He never thought about why you didn't talk about your parents. But now he thought you had a good reason for it. As you rushed for the door, Matt was nervous to find out why.

"Matt, this is my Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad, this is Matt"

"Nice to meet you" Matt said with a nervous smile. Before he could shake your Mom's hand, she pulled him in for a tight hug.

Your Dad kissed your head before going to hug Matt. As far as Matt is concerned, your parents weren't half as scary as the way you've talked about them.

"Matt, can you pass me the salt?" Your Mom smiled and patted Matt's cheek when he gave her the salt.

As Matt stirred the soup, you came into the kitchen and as habit, kissed his cheek. That action changed the atmosphere in the room. Your Mom stared at you both with furrowed eyebrows.
