Gareth Bale

For crhavings:

You sighed, willing the tears to remain behind your eyelids, at least until he left. Gareth paced the room as you laid on the couch, your eyes closed and your lips quivering. The two of you had started to encounter issues in your relationship over the past year. With each passing day, you felt another crack was marking the near shatter of your relationship.

"I can't deal with this right now, (Y/N). I need to focus on the Euros," Gareth sighed, running his hands through his hair. "Maybe we just need a break." You nodded your head in acknowledgement, not opening your eyes as your lip continued to quiver. You silently thanked the fact that your mother-in-law had been gracious enough to take your daughters for the night. "You can't even look at me? You can't even talk to me?" Gareth asked, his voice sounding broken as well.

Your eyes opened and you allowed the tears to flow silently from your eyes. "Gareth, please," you whispered out, causing your boyfriend's expression to break before he turned and walked out of your shared home. The sound the door slamming brought you back to reality as you allowed the tears to flow freely now. Your chest heaved as you sobbed your eyes out on the couch.

The following day, you went to your mother-in-law's home to pick up the girls. Gareth had left for France after your little episode the day before, leaving just you and your daughters in your home. "Mama, where's Daddy?" Alba asked innocently, causing you to tense up.

"He left for the tournament, sweetie," you said carefully, picking up your daughter and tickling her, smiling at the sound of her giggles. You smiled down at your other daughter as well, Nava sleeping soundly in her carrier. Gareth had already informed you well in advance that he wouldn't be able to see you or the girls during the group stages of the tournament, per request of the coaching staff.

You silently thanked whoever was upstairs for the arrangement, giving you and Gareth more time to think out the funk your relationship had entered. The days went by and you were able to think out your strained relationship with your childhood sweetheart more and more. You just accepted the fact that the two of you had grown far apart with your work schedules, two kids, and all of the stress that came with all of the things the both of you were responsible for.

Picking up Alba and Nava's carrier, you walked towards the taxi that was waiting outside your home. The taxi drove you to the airport and before you knew it you had landed in Paris. Strapping Alba's carry on backpack to her back, you grabbed your own bag before picking up Nava's carrier and grasping Alba's hand in your own. Walking through the crowded airport, you went to claim your luggage as you struggled to find Colleen in the massive airport.

You had called her to have her pick you up at the airport, not wanting to rush Gareth into anything if he didn't want to see you this early. Wales had progressed through the Group State and the knockout rounds would start soon. Fighting through the crowd, you were able to find Colleen and she led you to the hotel. Thanking her as the bellhops took your luggage upstairs to your room, you shifted an asleep Alba from one arm to the other.

"So how are you and Gareth?" she asked softly, causing you to sigh.

"We're . . . not speaking at the moment," you replied, heading towards your hotel room. Colleen followed you into the room as the two of you put your sleeping children on one of the beds. "I just don't know what to do, Colleen," you bit your lip as more tears threatened to fall. "He's the only man I've ever loved, he's the father of my children, I just can't imagine life without him," you confessed.

Colleen hugged you tightly as you let a few tears fall. "Aaron said Gareth's been a little off lately. I mean, he's playing perfectly fine out on the pitch, but afterwards, he just sits on his bed and mopes," Colleen told you, causing you to look up. "I think you both realize that you can't function without the other," she said with a soft smile.

You nodded, a small smile on your lips. "Yeah, I guess you can say that." The Round of 16 commenced a few days after you had arrived and you and Gareth still hadn't talked to each other since he had left for France. Nonetheless, you still showed up with your daughters to the Wales v. Northern Ireland match with a Bale jersey on your back and a Wales flag painted on your cheek.

Wales won off an own goal from Northern Ireland 1-0 and you sighed in relief as the Welsh dream remained alive. Picking Nava out of her carrier and taking Alba by the hand, you walked down to the side of the pitch where several Welsh players were already hugging their families and celebrating. Looking through the red shirts, you found your boyfriend talking to Aaron as Aaron started walking towards Colleen, who had beat you down to the pitch.

You and Gareth locked eyes but neither of you stopped moving towards the barrier. Alba cheered happily as she saw her father. As you walked closer Gareth, he leaned over the barrier and placed a kiss on your lips. You kissed him back as the two of you accepted each other's faults and moved forwards in your relationship. Pulling back, you smiled at your boyfriend. "Congratulations," you smiled, bouncing Nava on your hip.

Gareth smiled back before leaning in again and placing another kiss on your lips. "I know, I somehow won the most beautiful girl in the world's heart. It's one of my best accomplishments," he stated. The two of you smiled at each other until Alba started bouncing up and down.

"Daddy!" she shouted, causing your husband to bend down and pick her up. "You won!" she yelled loudly, causing several onlookers to smile at her statement. Alba wrapped her arms tightly around her father's neck as Gareth turned to look at you again.

"Yeah, I definitely did," he agreed, looking between you and the two daughters you shared.
