Lionel Messi

For LucyReus:

Kristin smiled at the beautiful sand as she and her family walked down towards the water. It was just after the Copa America and Leo decided that he needed to get away from everything and just enjoy some time with his family and Kristin couldn't agree more. The last few years had been filled with ups and downs and Kristin and Leo just needed some time to relax and some time off from all of the craziness. Clutching Mateo to her chest, Kristin smiled as Thiago walked besides his father down to the water.

Setting up the umbrella and blanket for little Mateo to keep out of the sun, Kristin quickly broke out the sunscreen. He was only a few months old and Kristin didn't want to risk anything. Slathering sunscreen onto his soft skin, Kristin then placed his floaties and a small bucket hat on his head before putting sunscreen on herself. "Thiago! Come over here and put some sunscreen on!" Kristin called, her mother hen side coming out.

"But, Mama!"

"No buts!" Kristin called, already walking towards her older son. Leo took the sunscreen from her and started putting it on himself and on their child. Walking back up to grab Mateo, Kristin joined Leo and Thiago in the water. Kneeling in the water, Kristin dipped Mateo's feet into the water every time the water came up and the little boy was really enjoying himself.

Kristin smiled as his happy gurgles entered the air. "Mama, come join us!" Thiago called from where he was out with Leo.

"In a little bit, Thiago," Kristin replied, picking up Mateo and walking out a little farther to where Leo was splashing water with Thiago. Kristin laughed and splashed Leo, causing the Argentine to turn and splash her back lightly. After a little splash war, Leo took Mateo from Kristin as Thiago started to try and grab some of the rocks that were on the ground below their feet.

"Look at this rock, Mama!" the little boy shouted, showing off the shiny black rock he grabbed. Kristin smiled and looked for rocks with Thiago as Leo sat in the water with Mateo, who was enjoying splashing the water onto his father's face, much to Kristin's amusement. After a while, Thiago tired of searching for rocks and Mateo was getting a little fussy. Walking out of the water with Mateo, Kristin looked behind her to see Leo throwing Thiago lightly into the water, making the toddler giggle loudly.

Kristin smiled before retiring to the shade with Mateo. Setting him down for a nap, Kristin turned to look towards Leo and Thiago, who were making their way out of the water now. "Mama pass us the ball!" Thiago called, as Leo picked him up. Kristin leaned over Mateo and grabbed the ball, tossing it towards Leo and Thiago.

"Now, what do you say to Mama?" Leo asked.

"Thank you, Mama," Thiago smiled before wiggling out of his father's grasp. Kristin smiled as the two started to pass the ball. Thiago was still young but he loved passing the ball back and forth with his father whenever he could. Thiago started to dribble the ball and Leo attempted to 'stop' him but Thiago scored a goal anyways. Leo picked up the toddler and congratulated him, throwing him in the air and catching him in a celebratory celebration, making Kristin smile. No matter what happened in their lives, Kristin never doubted for a moment that Leo loved their children.

Mateo started to wake up from his little nap and Kristin turned her attention to attending to him. Picking up the fussing baby, Kristin rested him in her lap as he woke up fully. Pressing a kiss to his dark tufts of hair, Mateo calmed down and stopped fussing. "You want to build a sand castle?" Kristin cooed to Mateo. Walking back into the sunlight, Kristin grabbed a few shovels and buckets and walked near the wet sand.

Setting Mateo down on the ground, she handed him a bucket and started to fill one of her own. After showing Mateo how to build a sand castle, Kristin laughed as Mateo crushed it with his little feet. "Mateo!" she fake scolded, causing the little boy to giggle loudly. After a few more hours at the beach, Leo and Kristin walked out of the beach with two sleepy boys in their arms. Returning to the vacation house they were renting, Leo washed the sand off of both of the boys before setting them both down for naps.

Kristin smiled as Leo went to slip under the covers as well. "So all the big strong men need their rest, huh?" she asked, walking over to Leo's side.

"How do you think we get so strong?" Leo joked. Kristin smiled and leaned down to kiss Leo quickly before walking out of the room.

"Enjoy your siesta, I'm going to read outside. Don't forget, we have dinner reservations," Kristin called over her shoulder before walking out of the room. Grabbing a novel from her bag, Kristin went out onto the deck and sat in the hammock set up there and enjoyed her alone time. Kristin glanced down at her watch after she completed a good portion of the novel and went to go wake up the boys. Opening the door quietly, Kristin silently cooed at how cute the scene was.

Leo was in the middle of the bed, Mateo resting on his chest, their chests rising in sync. Thiago was curled into Leo's side with one of Leo's arms holding him close to Leo's body. Kristin quickly took her phone out of her pocket and snapped a quick picture of the family siesta before moving to take Mateo from Leo's chest. Leo awoke at the movement and looked up at her sleepily. "Time to go," Kristin smiled before moving to grab and wake up Thiago.

Carrying the boys into their bedroom, Kristin quickly changed both of them before going to change herself. Leo was buttoning up his shirt when she walked in. Pulling on a sundress, Kristin smiled at herself in the mirror as Leo came up and wrapped his arms around her. "Thank you for giving me this family," he said. "And for this vacation."

"You're welcome and I love you," Kristin smiled before turning around and kissing Leo quickly.
